Jenny, have you talked with your badminton partner? Maybe she does value your partnership, but has a crap way of expressing it. Or, if she doesn't, then you can move on without any hard feelings.

This would be my recommendation as well.

Cheers all for the advice. A conversation will certainly need to be had soon. As my partner is now the chairperson of the club, our partnership isn't too much of a priority for her. The dynamic changed between us in the last season and maybe our time together has just come to an end. I will certainly talk to her before making any final decision but I'm fairly certain that she won't be willing to commit herself to playing with me anymore and that's the only thing that would keep me in the club. There's another girl there who's fairly toxic and she has an impressive ability to make me miserable simply be being in her vicinity, so I think it's probably time I put some distance between us, even if I also have to distance myself from everyone else in the club at the same time.

Honestly, it's hard to believe this all started out as a nice hobby :p

And deadendp, don't mind me, was just an observation on the proliferation of threads in recent days. I sense some civil unrest ;)

Just don't want you feeling left out! Don't worry! There are many times I have to ask around to know what is going on.

Civil unrest? Nah. Just some degenerate fun.

    I'm not really that cool...really, I'm a nerd.

I think most people on here form what seem to be close friendships because we all live so far away from each other. I'm happy to chat with anybody...well, almost anybody. :D

Thanks, I still feel like a newbie though so I think I'll stay in shallow waters for now, will maybe wade in a little deeper when I've been around a while longer ;)

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
