I'm getting excited because we will hopefully be starting the addition to our house in the next month or so. I'm currently in the process of choosing a siding color and texture combo because the whole house will be resided so that everything matches with the addition. We are also installing new windows. Currently, our house has the original windows from 1945 when the house was built. They are colonial style with 8-panels in each window. This means that washing them is a friggin nightmare... which means I rarely wash them. I can't wait to have brand new windows with the colonial panels INSIDE the glass so I can wash them easily. It's going to be a long noisy (and expensive) summer but will all be worth it in the end. My inlaws will have their new attached apartment to live out their days and our house will be pretty and much more energy efficient.

That's awesome. It is a drag to do work like that -- in the middle of it. But when it is done, you will be so happy and it will all have been worth it.
And the sun it may be shining . . . but there's an ocean in my eyes

Being sick at home sucks pretty bad too though. Been home for three days super sick - getting depressed now from lying around feeling shitty for so long and doing nothing. Uuuggghh. So, so boring. But really, sick people should always stay home and not spread the germs around. Apparently the leading cause of absenteeism at work is actually people coming to work sick and turning their coworkers into absentees. Go home Frankie! ;)

Im playing it up more than I should. I think it's mostly allergies. I'm right at the threshold of being just well enough to still go in. If I stayed home I would feel guilty that I'm well enough to still go in. Since I'm already here, I'm gonna stay, but tomorrow I'm definitely going to consider not coming in at all.

I wonder how long Matt Cameron can keep it up as far as live shows go. Guy's a machine, but he's also 52. He'll have to slow down at some point.

He doesn't even look particularly tired at the end of each show yet though. And he runs before every show still. Maybe one of these days he'll cut out the pre-show run? :P My dad is 73, and he still runs (with my 45 y.o. bro-in-law often, and my dad is less tired by the end of the run!) and rides his bike around Europe for vacation. Matt likely has plenty left in the tank. 52 is what 40 used to be when it comes to fit people.

The fact that my life just got SO MUCH BETTER!!!! The horrible, rotten, nasty, evil, lying, vengeful, insane person who I work most closely with is finally RETIRING!!!!!!!!! And as she threatened long ago, she has announced with as little notice as humanly possible just so she could screw everyone over. But of course, everyone is thrilled and don't care how troublesome the sudden departure is at all, lol. This person has been the black cloud in my life for TWELVE YEARS. The one who made me dread coming to what is otherwise a good job. I have been dreaming of this day for years, and the day is finally here!! When my boss told me (knowing how happy I'd be) I almost completely freaked out. I had to leave the office so that I could go into happy hysterics, lol. I called my mom and she congratulated me. :D

Oh my god. I can't believe that this awful chapter in my life is ending. Two short weeks and the worst thing in my life is gone forever. I feel like the world has lifted off my shoulders. Yes, she's that bad! It hasn't even really sunk in yet - hard to imagine after so much time what it will be like to not have that weight around my neck.

I'm gonna to be hungover tomorrow, because I'm gonna have a ding dong the witch is dead party.
