    My mom and I have had a ton of really horrible drama lately but today was a really nice day, being able to watch her do something quite important and impressive.

    How exhausting is 14 yo girl drama. Ugh. One second she's a beast. Then I turn around and she's beautifully peaceful, insightful, funny, gracious and loving. High school next year. I know it's cliche, but where has the time gone? I can still feel her baby hair rubbing against my cheek as I rocked her to sleep. I can still smell her baby smell.

    Do you know what its like to raise kids and you cant lie to them? So you trick them instead ;)) It's one way to get them to eat, clean their room and not do certain things.

    That only works for a certain amount of time though. Then they have the right to turn the tables and do the same to you.

    I'm beginning to hate the oh so self-conscious "collectors". PJ, get your act together and fucking reissue your stuff. You cannot find it right that people enrich themselves by selling your products way above value and that people are spending their hard-earned money on "things" like this. It is getting ridiculous!

    Aaaahhhh!! %-( fucking woodpecker that has taken up residency in the green strip outside my apartment! SO annoying, pecking all fuckin' day and driving me crazy! And probably slowly killing all the trees while he's at it! I have a deeper understanding of the woody woodpecker cartoons now - of COURSE everyone wanted Woody dead. Now, how might one without a gun go about snuffing out a woodpecker??

    That's exactly what worries me. My relationship with my mom is rocky at best. It's really hard not to fall into dysfunctional communication patterns especially when under stress. Today was a great day though. One day at a time I guess. Always strive to do better.

    Most people I know have a dysfunctional relationship within the family. It's beneficial that you acknowledge it. Stress makes us say and do things we often regret. I grew up watching my Grandmother beat my Mom down until she felt worthless. When I got older, I decided that I would never put my kids in that same position. Celebrate the good days, and move on from the bad having learned on thing. Give yourself credit!! Parenting is the most difficult job we can have, and it never stops........

    What the hell happened over the past year? My son's report card that i got today, the phone call I'm supposed to get from him that hasn't happened, how i should have appreciated my birthday dinner last year (4/20) more since my sister somehow is now dead and my son is encamped at his father's house where he's not allowed to be, yet no one seems to care and i'm not really happy right now.. Yes - all at once - it's a scary place in there.
