I had an awesome time at the Rusted Root concert last night. I was going to cancel due to all the BS going on, but pushed out of my comfort zone. What a stupid reason to not have fun! They are such an excellent jam band and there was plenty of superb guitar to watch. I spent the last half hour or so dancing with abandon to Send Me On My Way, Ecstatic Drums and, the best, Ecstasy. >:D< It was so freeing to just be in the moment, feel the tribal beat and be one with the music. So glad they came back after the show was snowed out in February. Thank you to my BIL, I didn't realize how much I needed to just not think for awhile. I feel cleansed and renewed. Hope it lasts for a bit! :bz

That's my exact thought process. I didn't realize how spoiled I was last tour..
Finding couches to sleep on would make it cheaper (and more fun!) but still airfare is alot..
    (I am getting a raise though.. :-? :D )

same here. Also the issue of flying for 3 hours for a single show. My line of thinking however, is I have not regretted attending a show, but I have regretted not getting tickets for a show.

I have thought and thought. I wanted to finally see them live, now that I've made changes and can do so, and I just really want to go to a concert and have that Pearl Jam experience everyone speaks about. (I can't regret not going Fall/Winter 2013 cause we'd just lost my sister & we were just trying to make it through each day). Before that, it just wasn't a possibility for a bunch of reasons. So I had hoped for something within 4 or 5 hours driving distance, or closer. I considered Denver but I don't have someone to go with and there's no way I can afford airfare, hotel, tickets, etc. I allowed myself some magical thinking - flying out to Denver alone and being fine in a strange city, but then logic kicked in. So, I have to be realistic and accept the fact that I'll have to wait for my 'virgin' show.
    I've waited 23 years, what's another 1,2,3?? No biggie. :^o

Same here, regretted not going to Newark in 2010, but that was a $10 train ticket away from my house... I don't think I'll regret this tour as it's a reach to go in the first place.

I have been picturing the magical strange city experience too. I think i can pull it off.(?) It's gonna be a long weekend to decide before the 10club draw next week.. Theoretically, I can do the whole thing for $600 if I sleep in the airport.. Maybe driving is a better idea lol

I would much prefer to drive, i get to see parts of the country I haven't seen before and I could plan the stops on my way to whatever venue i was going to. I could handle the experience on my own; I'm independent and am able to check into a hotel, find a venue, etc. It's just not a very enticing idea alone. Road trips should be with friends (or spouses/family if you are lucky enough to have those). If it was in PA, DC, VT - I'd feel more comfortable but I'm not familiar with any of the cities. And I'd have to have the funds NOW, didn't really have time to build up my concert fund. 600.00 is a lot without saving beforehand, I've got therapy for my son to pay for, and it looks like he's going to be in Summer School (which I'll have to pay for even though he's not here). I've got my Mom's 80th b'day next month and family vacation end of June - I'm on a fixed income so I don't have time to sock away some money. Plus I'll have an extra ticket which I would hate to eat. It's just not meant to be. It's exciting for people that have the shows in their hometown and I am truly happy for them. Of course I selfishly wanted to have options; who didn't? Maybe I'll get tickets closer to the concert if find a travel buddy; but it's just not feasible right now. I'm tempted to put my name in the Denver lottery; I know it would be awesome and it would be great to meet some people from here. Magical thinking and logic are clashing. But this is for the fans in the middle of the country, so I just need to let it go and know that my time will come. :)>-

So, unfortunately I'm not the only one...I'm living in France and can't go to Milan or Trieste for financial reasons. It's too expensive for my wallet.
I have to pay school, the loan of my home, car charges, etc...I really want to see them and meet some great people. I will use my bootleg coupon code for the show i wanted to see...a little consolation !

You wouldn't have to eat the other ticket you are allowed to sell it for face value and then you could end up with a ticket buddy. Also the Blacks are thinking of trying for Denver and it would be cool to be able to meet them.
That being said funds is funds and if you don't got em there is not a lot that can be done. Hope it all works out for you.

Been a huge fan since 1992. Never saw them live, too young then, too poor after, too caught on job (I know I can find hundreds of excuses) and now the challenges are: 1- No date for Montreal 2- Crowd fear. But if they do read my post I've got a basement and Montreal is cool to visit. Ok, I guess I'll have to go back to reality now. Gotta go guys, there's this weird green man looking at me in the corner of my living... :-p

Maybe we will get some EV solo dates between the euro tour and fall tour? I guess he would come to the east coast this time. EV solo in Tulsa was my return to any form of live pj experience after a long drought. It was so amazing on so many levels. You can hold out hope for that.
