I have a 40 minute commute too - its bloody perfect! Although the carriage always gets a bit agro when Supersonic kicks in :D
    Nature drunk and High
  • My morning drive (I come in early) is 37 minutes. When I heard that the CD is 36 minutes - I was so pumped.

Problem is, Johnny Guitar will forever remind me of the on ramp (it takes about 10 minutes to get to the hwy). MOnday - I think I might use the shuffle option just to switch it up.

Yeah the timing is perfect for me too, but I HAVE to shuffle the tracks, because ending with The End before arriving at work will make me incredibly depressed - NOT a great way to start the work day. I would rather double up on Got Some, GSMF, Johnny, and Supersonic - much more appropriate for the commute and getting your day off to a good start. ;)

What will you do then for the remaining 3 minutes and 22 seconds?

  • doesn't work for me. i start up the ipod as i walk out the door, walk to the train station, and by the time i change trains at jamaica....the CD is close to over. to be fair tho, most CDs don't last me thru my entire commute, door to door b/c from the moment i walk out my front door to the moment i walk into my office doors.....about 75 minutes in total. walk/train/walk. eh well. so yes, this week i've listened to backspacer 2x through each morning.
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

  • My commute time is perfect to listen to it 2x each way. I just love the order of the songs because it fits perfectly with each part of the commute. I seem to have it synched that the fast songs are when the roads are open and the more soothing ones are when there is traffic! They are geniuses!

I've been listening to Backspacer all week, but today I mixed it up. Yield!!! Brain of J ->DTE in the morning, Red Dot->Hummus on the way home. Kick ass.
words seem so out of place.

My commute is about 30 minutes, so I get to work/home in the middle of Speed of Sound. This is ruining this album for me! I tried to go a long way yesterday, but it didn't work. Yep, issues.

On Avocado, I get home in the middle of Gone. Doesn't work so well.

I'm guessing nobody feels all that bad for me.

My commute averages two or three minutes less than the length of the album. This means that when I get home, I end up sitting in my car in the garage listening to "The End." Anyone who stumbled by and listened to the lyrics would assume I was opting for death by carbon monoxide.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

My commute is the same...I pull into work right in the middle of "The End." I sit in the car and finsih off the song as all my other employees walk buy as I have a smile on my face...yes I smile when I listen to this song! Maybe bc its so beautiful. Then I'm singing the song all day. I have it stuck in my head now bc the of the ride home!
  • I'm so jealous of all of you 40 minute or less commute people. I got an hour and a half each way through Orange County gridlock. It has however helped me get really familiar with Backspacer since I get to listen to it nearly 3 times each way.
  • I haven't had to leave the house for work in a while. It sucks! ;)
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
  • I would change the pace a bit, and since you've probably been on a backspacer binge like most of the us, throw in binaural for the car drive.

I No Coded it this morning to keep things fresh, but I pulled into work right as the end of "Present Tense" was about to kick in. It's "Backspacer" on the way home, so now I'll never know how "Present Tense" ends. :)
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Damn dude, that's some over saturation of Pearl Jam. At least have the new AIC album in one slot, because 5 PJ albums in my opinion is normal.

Took your advice somewhat. I put Mad Season in place of Yield.
