i really hate just cooking for myself! i end up with all of this food leftover that i know that i'll never eat. i really hate wasting things but it seems so hard to make recipes just for me...even when i cut the ingredients in half. except maybe pasta...that's not too bad. i'm trying to cook more from scratch...but it's getting a bit pricey at this point. especially when i don't have a guinea pig for new dishes
if anyone has any tips...please pass them along

Often times I find it easier almost to just get something from a restaurant too since it's cheaper to buy it from them instead of all of your individual ingredients.
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
i've been going about every other day to the grocery store...to try and cut back on the wasting. i might start buying some dry ingredients in bulk too.
there is always the food court at work...ugh
Plus A LOT of fast food :?
I love leftovers!
Often, I cook for the week. I cook a lot of chicken breast and pasta, and it works out perfectly, as I have food for the rest of the week, particularly when dealing with chicken breast. Instead of grilling up one chicken breast for one night, I grill up a bunch, and then I have chicken for wraps/fajitas/salads for the rest of the week. Some weeks, I roast a turkey/chicken, and again, I have leftovers for the following week. I also love pasta, so I end up with those leftovers, too! Yum!
I cook for one usually too and i'll generally cook like i am cooking for two. And I'll have the same thing the next night. I know some folks dont like to do that but it does not bother me.
Sometimes i'll just have salad for dinner during the week. I'll buy some greens and all the fixins and just eat salad mon-thurs. Pretty boring i know but cost efficiant.
Oh also what i like to do is i'll go to the store and go to the meat department and get just one chicken breast, one pork chop etc and cook it on the grill. I love going to whole foods because i can go to their little salad department and get 1/2 a lb of a side (cucumber salad, pasta salad etc) and then maybe some veggies and i'm good to go for the night that way.
I do a lot of grilling out like that.
