I'm seriously considering going to his show tonight at the Bowery Ballroom. I was really impressed with opening set for Eddie. Anybody else going?

Cool, enjoy. Hopefully you didn't have to do too much convincing to get him to go. ;) A Liam Finn and EJ show should sell itself!

No convincing necessary. He is not the biggest EV/PJ fan, but when we saw Ed last month, he really liked Liam's stuff. The hubby's favorite music is - I wish I could change the font size of this next word - techno and he thought Liam's set was, for lack of a better word, "engaging". Eli just TD'd so maybe he'll stay home after all. LOL

Anyone who's reading this that mgiht still be able to make it - HIGHLY recommend. I've seen him now 7 times (4 w/ Ed and 3 without). He makes an amazing show, he's funny in a way that's refreshing and unlike most bands, and they sound fantastic.

Again - if you can make this or other Liam shows - GO GO GO!

My brother works for Grey Advertising in NYC. He called me yesterday to tell me that Liam Finn was doing a show right in his office. I was like... WHAT DO YOU MEAN, in your office? He said that he was doing some promotional thing and he did quite a few songs with the girl he plays with in some small auditorium kind of room.

    Pretty damn cool

    Wow. What a show.

If there's any justice in the world, this guy and Eliza Jane should be huge. As in Pearl Jam huge. I was so unbelievably impressed.

I loved his cover of Dear Prudence in Chicago. Did he play that tonight?

If anyone could post a setlist I'd be very grateful. Love all of his songs. When he played I'm Only Sleeping in DC1 I nearly shat myself.

No, but he did do "I'm Only Sleeping" which was fantastic. He brought some of his roadies (I think they're his roadies) out during the encore to play a few songs together, which I don't think is something they've ever done before.

They've already got the monumental live performance down pat, they're both great singers and musicians...all that needs to happen now is Liam's songwriting to reach its' potential. Right now, he's got a bunch of absolutely fantastic songs and a bunch of good songs, and he's only at the beginning of his career. Once he's consistently writing with the caliber of his best work, he's going to be unstoppable.

Oh wow. He did it again!! If only I weren't such a Giants fan, I would have been there... maybe I should have gone.

You should've went. The show started at 11 so I watched the Giants game from a nearby bar. Last night was freakin awesome - I'm Only Sleeping was the highlight for me. I've never been to the Bowery before but after last night I will definitely be back.

No cover of Dear Prudence. I was hoping for that too since I have the Live In SpaceLand album. But an awesome version of Lullaby- that was the only song of his I didn't like. But after last night I appreciate it.

    Great show last night
    Really really good
I dont have the setlist but he basically played almost the whole album except Shadow of your man. he did the beatles cover as someone else mentioned here. He really flowed and he is so spontaneous with his solos/outburts. I was like ish, is he ok? But he was just buggin out and feeling it.
    AWESOME SHOW - MUST SEE!
