Has anyone dealt with door-to-door magazine salespeople?

I had some college kid come by selling magazine subscriptions. Are these things on the up and up or a scam?

they've been doing that for years.

personally, i wouldn't buy them. i read what i want for free at the newstand.


i had some roofing company stop by today to see if i wanted a roof. my roof is like 4 years old. then he was trying to sell siding. yeah, as you can see buddy, nothing wrong with mine.

I had one stop by and try to sell me some magazines. I kindly told her, I wasn't interested. I closed my front door, she then decided to pull the fire alarm to my apartment complex. It was very kind of her to do that, I didn't get the chance to thank her and let her know I had reconsidered the magazine idea.
