Im 16 and as i love some bands from now, none of them are post 2000 however. Pearl Jam strangely apeals to me and i love them with all my heart. Are there any other people out there my age that are hardcore cult PJ fans?

I'm not 16, but it's good to know some youth still have good taste in music. Nice Post!

I could be the kid's GRAND-dad, assuming me and my (hypothetical) kid were both having kids at a young age.

    Good for you...
you like different songs as you get older and leave others behind, only to find them again when they have new insight and depth for you - any GREAT band will inspire you so
I have always said that I don't think Pearl Jam is the best because I like them so much... I like them so much because they ARE they best
    Cheers

We will both be @ Philly #3 which will be her 3rd show. Great to see more people your age that not only give older stuff a try but have the good taste to like it. Rock on

  • I will be turning 31 in December and now I guess I can officially say that I have loved this band for more than half my life! It is odd to even me that after 15 plus years, my admiration and adoration has not wavered at all. Infact I think it's safe to that I me even be more obsessed then I was when I was 14 or 15! It just keeps getting better!! It is really great to know that there ARE young people out there that are still being sucked in by this amazing band!

  • I was 25 when "10" came out. Was in an INXS phase at the time, had liked heavy metal in high school, so was really looking for a new music "direction". PJ, Nirvana, et al came onto the scene at that time and I was hooked! I just turned 43 this week, so I'm the same age as Mike & Stone. I sometimes feel I'm too old to enjoy this music, and these guys are my age or older! So that makes me feel better!

I think their music transcends age groups. They have been a driving force in my life, and I've loved everything they've done. And I will continue to go to live shows until they stop touring...

Enjoy them, no matter what age you are!

  • Nice to see the OP. My son is 13 yr old TenC member and is going to his 4 & 5 shows this October. Pearl Jam is his favorite band but he also listens to Green Day and Kings of Leon, the other stuff is mostly my old stuff like Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He idolizes Mike McCready.

  • I was 16 when I got into Pearl Jam, which has been about 3 years ago now (I'm about to turn 19 in a week and a half.) Oddly enough Self-titled was the album that got me into PJ (though Alive got me interested in trying them out.) I have a few friends that are into PJ as well, and I'm starting to get my family more into them as well. Even my grandmother. We were just rocking out to Backspacer yesterday in fact. Haha. It's great to see other, even younger kids, like Pearl Jam just as much as I do. That means there is still hope for the future in music!
