There have been around 5 threads about this already. And the guy is STILL entitled to his opinion.

  • OMG did Pitchfork give Backspacer a bad review? Maybe someone should start an email campaign against the author.....but then again, it would probably just turn into a big argument and get locked anyway.

  • here's another TERRIBLE review...the Rolling Stone review of Binaural where the whole article is spent comparing Pearl Jam to Matchbox Twenty:

"I'll tell you what: If all I had was Pearl Jam, and I didn't have another band in the world, I would not be worried. Because in there is the essence of making great music. You don't have to use it all at once, but it's there." - Neil Young

Once upon a time this was a group that was on top of the world and yet still took all kinds of bizarre chances, recording shit like lengthy tape experiments and songs about bugs-- often ridiculously self-indulgent, sure, yet always surprising. Now, paradoxically, with the spotlights long since extinguished, Pearl Jam seem content to do things by the book.

    I agree with this.

    I think it's Pearl Jam's worst album...but it's still pretty good.

Everyone should agree with this. It isn't an opinion. It's a fact, like the sky is blue and water is wet.

It's a fact that they're content to do things by the book? The Backspacers lovers are talking like the band has found some new awesome sound.
