Couldn't find another thread on this but maybe I'm just blind. Anyway loved that they were selling poster tubes at the Seattle shows! Didn't have to worry bout my poster getting bent the entire time. :D Were they $5 everywhere? Picked mine up at the Ames Bros booth so I don't know if the price was different at the PJ merch booth. Anyway thanks 10 Club!

Have other shows even had an Ames booth, or were they just set up because it was Seattle? I'd love to think I have a chance at buying a tube at Philly 4, since I missed out on that presale. I'm not at all interested in having it crushed, if I even get one to begin with. And I know it's unlikely that I'd be able to bring one in to start. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!!

Mine was a $2 donation in Chicago, both nights.

The first night I got a narrower tube and put a couple little creases on my poster tryin to get it out. The next night the standard brown cardoard looking ones. Both were sturdy as hell.

i almost always fuck up my posters a wee bit putting them in tubes....especially when i am AT shows. usually, i ask my husband to do so. ;) however, either way, i really don't care. a small ding/crease....once framed...no biggie. besides, it 'shows' i got it at the show. :D my italy poster has definitely roll marks, but that's b/c it traveled all thru italy in my suitcase....w/o a tube even! it's amazing it even looks so good! hahahaha. and i love it, b/c i know it's history. that said, you bet...i still prefer having a tube. few fuck ups getting it in/out, nothing compared to the possibility of getting crushed outside of a tube!

    $2 tube...that's a bit more realistic.
btw - i WAS able to bring a tube into the shows both times i saw ed solo, but i know that's a different animal from a pj arena show.

  • I have not heard of the Ames booth before, and couldn't believe the deal they had: the s/n Shawn Kemp poster, exclusive to the shows (and separate from the regular show posters), bundled with their (signed)book and the black PJ tote bag for $60. The poster by itself was $40 alone. Couldn't pass it up.

They were not letting (most) people in with tubes, but were available for $2 (which was going to charity) at the merch tables. I didn't know they had tubes at the Ames table, and waited in line at the merch table just to buy a tube. The tube thing is a great service.
There's a lot to be said for nowhere...
