After Seattle, it hit me, this band has been in my life...

I first got into this band in the early 90's because my older cousin who I idolize was into them, so I figured they had to be cool.
And it sort of hit me, as I was at Seattle I and II, that, this band has been a part of my life for so long. The fact that the band plays the old standards like Alive, and Even Flow and Betterman, is often bad mouthed on the board. People here often want to hear non single rare tracks. And i understand that.
But for me, it was pretty surreal. I have been listening to Betterman and Even Flow and Alive for a long time, 15 years, maybe more.
The point is, it was surreal to see 20000 people singing the opening verse of Betterman, and to hear Even Flow and Alive.
Kind of amazing as well, how, they played songs from I think every record, and every single one, was a great song. Its cool, how every album has great songs.
I dont get to see many big big shows like this, where there are 20000 people.

When it comes to songs being played live, I have nothing against Even Flow, Betterman, Alive or any other old concert staple of theirs, (with the exception of maybe Yellow Ledbetter, strictly because I'd like a littttle more variety when it comes to what song you end a show with). I still get so much out of those songs being played live. Just as much as I get out of a rarity being played. What it all comes down to is I just love this band and I'm going to love and be satisfied with whatever setlist they put together.
