I still love them but we must admit, just look at that commercial!

    so you mark this one tv commercial as the point when their career went in the toilet? that's pretty harsh IMO. i don't love the commercial, but i am glad they are getting word out about the new music.

    i love the new album, I can't stop listening to it. but every time i see that commercial come on i have to change the channel. it's a combination of embarrassment and disbelief. sorry i just can't watch it.

    I don't understand just because Pearl Jam has taped a commercial about getting their music out, it is them selling out? Pearl Jam just made a great record, and I know from experience people my age 16-22 really don't listen to Pearl Jam because they are seen as being old. Pearl Jam knows how to rock songs, and made what I think is a record to keep them around in the music industry, and attract more fans, other than the ones that are die hards like us.... But the object of making music is to sell records, and when you come out with a great record just like they did, compared to some of the garbage on the air waves today, promote all you want you'll still have your loyal fans and we can welcome some knew ones into the PJ community! New People deserve to listen to them they are one of the elite bands of all time, and support them now because I know we want them all around for a while!

    That commercial was super, super lame however listening to Pearl Jam isn't what most of the "cool" kids are doing now anyways. I don't think any real fans are going to leave the band over this but maybe it could bring a few into the fold.

    Bottom line - do you like the music? In the end that is all that matters. I like the new album and have played it a lot. I went to both Seattle shows and had a great time. Whatever else is going on in PJ world, I couldn't care less about all the rest as long as I enjoy the music.

    If only i could afford to travel to a state where they play 4 shows in a row. Do I have to start writing music complaining about the lack of live music love towards the middle of the united states for ed to hear me?
