i am on both boards... really miss that rm has been down lately... i keep checking. i try not to pay attention to the assholes on either board although there are some good peops over there too...

I love how Mach, who during the build up to Backspacer began posting things about how he heard the album and it wasn't good, has any credibility to call anyone anything. He was popping up in threads where people were saying how excited they were to hear Backspacer and he pretty much told them they shouldn't be cause he had heard it and it was not that good. Very lame behavior.

Mach, you have no credibility with me and everyone should investigate RM on their own. There are a lot of positive aspects to the site.

i like RM and this board, for different reasons. This board is a lot more chaotic and kinda has a creepy cult vibe sometimes, but its never slow! RM is generally a bit more reasoned and not full of complaints about seating and similar crap.

Okay, here's my 2 cents.

I went to RM one time and saw a thread dedicated to blasting Kat. Some folks were dropping the C word and the mods there were responding with LOL's and LMFAO posts. I spoke to one of the RM mods (I think his name is Hinny) through PM on this board and asked why they allow such vulgarity, especially considering that the 2 boards should share a common level of respect for one another. So the explanation I got was because Kat doesn't log on there, it was okay. Basically, he said if she was a user there, they wouldn't allow anyone to say such nasty things.

Now to me, that is reverse logic. I was always taught to not talk behind someone's back, that if you have something to say, then say it to their face. Anyway, ever since then I haven't been back to the RM board.

I understand we have some knuckleheads here. There are knuckleheads everywhere. But at least the Mods here try to create a respectful and mature environment, which is all anyone can ask.

Just to clarify, Hinn or Hinny was very nice when I spoke to him, but I just didn't dig the explanation and found the immaturity and culture on the RM board to be intolerable.

The reason I post at RM instead of here is that it seems more manageable. I don't have to look or search through a ton of threads to get to the one I'm interested in. Also, I like the mods over there, stip in particular is very thoughtful and keeps things under control without being an iron fist.

The other music section of that board is generally a lot more helpful in my hunt for good new bands then this one is.

I spend 95% of my time when i'm on RM on their other bands board.

I've long since given up modding and it's been a long time since I understood, or cared about, how rules are applied and such. The only discussions I pay attention to are the recurring ones my friends are involved in. I'm just out here, there, and everywhere for the fun these days. My allegiance is to my friends, not any board, country, whatever. Even if I do drape myself in that silly flag at the shows and preparties :P

i just dont understand why this board can't use the same basic structure that RM and every other good message board on the planet uses (including the old official board). this one is hard to search and i can't change signatures (apparently its STILL broken).


THe old official board was much better, but i guess tying it into Ten club forces some custom changes to the system.

The c word came from here as i remember. It was awhile back. There are one or 2 threads of this kind there that are basically dead. Most of the time is people that got pissed off here for whatever reason that go bitch about it there.
RM is wild but we are accustomed to each other and we don't take anything too seriously and the mods don't really allow things to get too far.
