"Unthought Known" could have easily been on No Code or Yield
i'm not really one for comparing a band's albums against one another but while listening to "Unthought Known" this morning i couldn't help but feel like it could have easily appeared on No Code or Yield. it seems like a bit of a throw-back to the sound of that period and i'm enjoying it quite a bit. Backspacer hasn't completely knocked me out (yet) but there are a few key tracks that i really dig and "Unthought Known" is definitely one of 'em.

I totally agree with you. And this is what annoys me about people saying that they shouldnt and never will make another 'TEN' or make another 'Yield'. That's fine and all, but some songs are going to sound like older songs and will seem like they would fit that era. I'm not afraid to say it would be awesome if we got a new album one day with a song that sounded like TEN, one song that sounded like No Code, one song that sounded like Vs., and a few that sound new and fresh. In addition, with a catalogue as large as PJs, thay are sure to make a few tunes that can be compared to those of the past. Personally, I think the last four songs on the album and Johnny Guitar all sound like Riot Act songs. Regardless, Unthought Known is fucking spectacular.
on all counts.
also probably why i so love it. i love the sounds of both those albums. not to say i don't love, or really like
Let's just breathe...
