Pearl Jam-Austin City Limits ACL-Saturday ACL Taping

Pearl Jam is headlining the Austin City Limits festival on Sunday October 4th. PJ plays from 8-10. It will surely be a great show. I was checking out the music scene for that weekend, and came across a special Pearl Jam performance for that Saturday October 3rd. It's being call the ACL Taping, and it's at a smaller venue also in Austin, TX. as part of an episode of KLRU's Austin City Limits, an acclaimed PBS show that started the music fest. Does anyone know how to get tickets for this special event? If you know how or have any please post about it thanks.

    someone said you can get tickets to a viewing of the taping at an auditorium, but chances of getting into the show are slim to none, unless you gave a lot of money to PBS.

    The way it *usually* works for an ACL taping is they will announce on an Austin radio station that "tickets will be handed out on a first come, first some basis and such-and-such a place in 15 minutes." The tickets are free, you just have to be listening to the radio at the right moment to know where they are being handed out. And you have to be able to get over there at the drop of a hat, which is difficult to do in Austin, aka "The Most Congested City in North America."

    From what I understand about a band as big as Pearl Jam is good fuckin' luck. Almost all the tickets will go to "friends of ACL."

    If anybody on this board gets in legitimately (ie, without knowing a guy who knows a guy), I'd be shocked. But I hope it happens. Would be awesome.
