It seems like its the early 90's again. Metallica's new album is good, good reviews for Chinese Democracy. PJ workin with B.O.B. Again....I smell a mega-record. Dont get me wrong...I live to love all that is PJ...they haven't skipped a beat in all the years they kick our asses.....this time around it will be different though, I just feel it

Now I really can't wait for a new record

    I really hope you are very wrong
    and personally its a crime to even mention PJ in the same context as those two
  • If Chinese Democracy was with the old members, it would be number one on Billboard for 3 straight weeks.

    various tracks have been out for sometime now. it's been torrented on many torrents sites now for months. 8 sweet studio mix tracks were out many weeks ago. plus one of the tracks, can be played on rock band 2.

    if you only love the old style rock of gnr, this will not be your cup of tea.
    lots of techno style beats. first few times hearing it, you'll be shocked that it's gnr. but you'll grow into it.

    comes out end of this nov. the fans have been waiting since hearing it being released since the film end of day's came out with oh my god track. which is not bad.

    By no means do I even like the guys, or their weak attempts at albums for the past decade.This album I'm giving props to cause I kinda like it.I started a thread prior to the Roo, sayin something along the lines of PJ Shittin on Metallica at the Roo...lots of people shit on me for it :D, its all good

    I'm just given credit where I think its due..thats all

    Metallica has not put out ONE good album? I'm a big fan and I'll admit recently a lot of their stuff has been garbage (St. Anger=Awful) But their early stuff is legendary. The Black Album, Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning all great metal albums. If maybe you don't like metal that's one thing, but to say Metallica has never put out a good album is crazy.

    EDIT: Their newest album is also very good.
    Uniondale. 2003
    MSG 1+2. 2010
    Wrigley. Brooklyn 2. Hartford. 2013
    St. Louis. Denver. 2014
    Global Citizens Festival. 2015
    MSG 2. Fenway 2. Wrigley 1. 2016
    Safeco 2. Missoula. 2018
  • I was thinking about this the other day. Why are people so concerned with revisiting history. Every time a band comes out with a new album its "Oh, I hope its like their last album" or "Oh, I hope its like their 2nd album, that is their best." I want something that is challenging, musically and intellectually. Who cares if it "sounds" like VS or Yield.

    I want something NEW not something that is stolen from themselves so that the hardcores can go "yeah this makes me feel like its 93 again, I'm gonna pretend im on campus, gonna get me a pepsi clear and smoke a bong and revisit history because those were the good old days!!!"

    /end rant
    {if (work != 0) {
    work = work + 1;
    sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
    else if (work >= 0) {
    reality.equals(false);
    work = work +1;
    }system("pause");
    return 0;}

    I think you should substitute "revisiting history" for "revisionist history."

    Revisionist history would be like someone saying they bought Ten the day it came out when they never even heard of Pearl Jam before Riot Act.

    Those reviews are due in 2029, which should be the year before the Hobbit movie.

    I tend to agree with you, by the way, but 93 was a good year!

    I didn't say anywhere that I want them to have an album that sounds the same as (insert whatever u like). I think they had a good formula with Stone writing a bunch and BOB doing a good job capturing the bands intensity. Binaural is a gem to me, and I'm glad they did that record.Back in '93 I was 12 years old, no where near a campus...a bong in a few more years :D

    I respect your opinion, and agree with most. I just think the overall SOUND of the next record will be a big improvement
  • The GNR album is a heeping pile of aardvark shit. GNR fans are embarresed that the album took 32 years and Axel has said he's a perfectionist and this album will be a masterpiece. So what you have is GNR's fans are saying "oh it's pretty good, different but it rocks". When inside they know it really does suck. Listening to it, you'd think the singer was a botox obseesed dreadlock wienie who got his ass kicked by Tommy Hilfiger. But of course this isn't the case here :rolleyes:.

    16 years and axl comes out with pure crap!!!
    there is maybe 1 ok song out of the lot i have heard

    it is not gun's and Roses, it is Axl Rose and it is rubbish!

    Metallica on the other hand is great, death magnetic is a good album

    PJ... they never left form, sure they had Riot act ehich i am not a huge fan of, but i don't see how they ever lost it!
