Los Angeles pre-parties?

It's been mentioned but nobody has responded with ideas yet:

With 4 upcoming LA shows, I think we need to come up with a home base or two, especially for purposes of the fundraiser. I am new to LA, so I won't be very helpful when it comes to suggesting meeting spots - anybody have suggestions? Thanks!

    Gibson Amphitheatre is at Universal Citywalk which has a bunch of bars; walking distance to the shows!! Haven't been there in a looonnng time though so not sure which would be the best one! PERFECT place for a pre-party though!!!!!! :D

    I'm going to all 4 shows so I definately want to make a party out of it! It's my "vacation" for this year!!!!

    the best place for a "pre party" or thats close to the entrance is saddle ranch. its several feet from the venue entrance and is alot of fun. near parking, tram, venue entrance, will call, and the giant universal globe. drinks arent cheap though. actually, drinks arent cheap ANYWHERE at the city walk! consider yourself warned! :lol:

    Yeah, Gerald605 said it....looks like we're gonna have to get this thing going ourselves.....I'll try to find some info on Saddle Ranch....we'll keep you posted......

    im thinking a couple hours before doors open...i think doors open at 630 so maybe just after 4....couple hours should be enough time to have a drink, plan some post concert gatherings, have another drink, grab some food and oh yeah have a drink

    A flask is the small metal vessel in which you store your bootleg whiskey.....

    I checked out their website and Saddle Ranch, not surprisingly, is expensive, but I don't think we'll find anything reasonable in walking distance from the venue.

    Domestic Drafts: Small - $5.50 (boo...); Large - $8.50 (better, but still - boo....); Tower - $45.00 (this intrigues me - let's have a strong enough showing to build a small city!)

    jajaja no, its no sarcasm Im from mexico and I really never heard that word in english, here we call it aforita. lets do it then, Saddle ranch it is!!!

    problem with the flask in this situation is getting it into the venue after. they do have those plastic one though.

    I'll be at all 4 shows. Looks like we'll hit Saddle Ranch night one and then take it from there.

    hey, just checked the porch and there's a los angeles party thread suggesting that we go to the karl strauss brewing company at the universal citywalk. the beer looks cheaper, so I suggest we join with them! who's with me? :)

    I've no idea about either venue being the one who has to leave home a week before the event in order to make it on time. But we should combine both events - you decide which venue wins and I'll be there with my vegemite.
