Carpooling with Backspacer
So I had Backspacer in my CD player this morning while riding with my 2 brothers and a friend to work. I think it was on Speed of Sound when from the backseat my brother says, "Have we been listening to the same song this whole time?" I respond, "You're kidding, right?" to which he says that all the songs he heard seemed to sound very alike. I told him he wasn't really listening to it. Then I ask if he wants me to turn on the radio instead and my other brother riding shotgun looks at me and says, "I wouldn't mind at all if you turned this off." To which I said, "You just don't get it, I guess." I kept the CD on till the end anyway cause it's my truck.
But man, some people just don't get this band.

He who forgets will be destined to remember.

You're a great brother!
Ha, thanks. My brother Greg who rode shotgun thinks Van Halen is the greatest band of all time so there you go. If I complained about that playing in his truck, he would have done the same.

Like u said your truck, your music... Next time put it one again for him.
when people bitch about the music i play in my car, i tell them they can change the music once they start making payments for the car.
glad you didn't give in.
Meh. Just goes to show how people are different. It would probably surprise these guys that whenever I listen to the radio it feels like it's the same song over and over again.
Honestly, I find that the melodic nature of the record makes it feel far less "samey" than some of their others might, but maybe it's because I have a "trained" Pearl Jam ear.

"maybe it me or it maybe you"
I'm curious to know which particular songs were played/playing when your bro said they all sounded the same?
Was the volume low or something? I just can't imagine how he could think that.
