Pearl Jam/Stooges tour, anyone?
For those of you who have been living in a cave for the last decade, one of the most important bands in rock history reunited in 2003. The infamous Stooges were performing limited engagements up until earlier this year when the sudden and tragic death of founding member Ron Ashton threatened to bring the curtain down on the Fun House. With a never say die attitude Iggy Pop made a phone call to someone he hadn't spoke to (except for in passing at one of the Stooges '08 performances) in twenty years, James Williamson. Williamson joined the Stooges prior to their seminal release "Raw Power" and was instrumental in the creation of that classic LP as well as several of Pop's early solo efforts. Williamson had left music altogether after a blow-up occurred between he and Pop during the recording of 1980's Soldier LP. After twenty year Pop phoned Williamson to invite him back into the Stooges for a 2010 tour. It would take too long to recount the saga that is the Stooges, but there is quite a bit of info to be had at these links below.
Anyway, my question, "is there any possibility that PJ would invite the Stooges along on the second leg of their tour?"

Alright, is anyone in the the PJ Headquarters reading this exuberant endorsement of a PJ/Stooges tour?
According to the RS article, "The only show on the books now is the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in London, but Williamson says many more are coming." So, all that needs to happen is for Eddie to phone Iggy and hook the world up with one of the most awesome tours ever. Simple enough, right?
Alas, I too foolishly missed out on the last couple of opportunities to see the Stooges before Ron Asheton's sudden death. It is something I will regret for a long time I think. As far as the "older bands reuniting for usually diminishing returns" part, according to JLevy423 that has not been the case with the Stooges:
I'd be a "run-a-way son of the nuclear A-bam"
I'd be "the worlds forgotten boy"
I'd be "the one who searches and destroys"
On a seemingly seperate note....I'd also "wanna be your dog"......in "1969" and "1970".

Maybe if everybody interested in such an event started heavily blogging the interweb the notion of a PJ/Stooges tour. It doesn't hurt that Mike Watt is playing bass. So, I would think that with Eddie's friendship with Mike could help facilitate such a situation. Are you listening Eddie?
Bring on the Stooges!
Roberto Clemente.
I was at that show....loved when a million people rushed the stage and iggy said, 'this is gonna get weird'.

There is still time to petition PJ to insist on touring with the Stooges in 2010.
