...that "Force of Nature" isn't a song that PJ only plays on the Back Spacer tour this fall and in 2010 and then the song takes 10 years to see the light of day again. This is a really beautiful song and I think it has the potential to be a crowd pleaser/sing-a-long a la "Wishlist," "Small Town," or even the resurrection of "Present Tense" in 2006.

hmm... im somehow not seeing the sing along potential

Such an awesome vibe with this song. It reminds me of You Are and Army Reserve. With the positivity of Inside Job..

I'd say it's my favorite on this album, but that would be discounting how I feel about every other song on Backspacer.

I'm on the fence about how this one will translate live, could be awesome, could be terrible

  • Well... there are a lot of songs in the Pearl Jam catalog that are catchy tunes and surprise surprise become crowd favorites. Most of them are on "Vitalogy." I guess I'd have to agree with Yield2me when he says it could be awesome or it could be terrible.

  • I think it will be amazing live. For one, it's really loud, lots of guitar and a wicked bass line. The vocals are very dramatic, building with every measure. I can see Ed getting really into this song live, and the band just getting behind him. Mike is going off the chain on this song live. You know he will. Every song where the music was written by MIke is amazing live. Given To Fly, Down, Inside Job, this will be no exception.

    Somewhere, there's a siren singing. :)
