Im an owner of all the official Boots...gotta say these 2009 editions are the best yet...the mix is superb everything in its place, clear, distinguishable and fucking cooking all in equal measure...
The drums and bass are huge...massive bottom end but they attack and really cut through...guitar sounds are amazing, crunchy yet subtle in the quieter songs...Ed's voice sits perfectly, warm but strong...the piano is prevalent, some people will have a problem with this but thats not a sound quality issue, its a playing one...i think its also important to mention how well the audience audio sits too...the crowds are amazing and they cut through in its right place too...Fantastic Mix Overall...Again they've left the performances as is, Warts and All including the most lost version of GO!!!!...which i personally love...
FINALLY THE BAND ARE ON FUCKING FIRE....!!! Enough said there!!!
So many sensational moments, Chicago 23 is so emotionally charged, you can here the sadness in Ed's voice achingly through Long Road and Come Back but they also feel to be playing as though their lives depended on it (Smile, Why Go...again this really cuts through with the quality of mix and sound...)
Chicago 24 is so energised i listened to it back to back with itself...it will melt your face
(dont personally like this term but it DID melt my face!!!!) THE RE-RE-RE-RE-WORKING OF IN MY TREE IS FUCKING OUT OF THIS WORLD...the highlight for me of all the boots but especially on this show....Also forget about the ALL NIGHT alá 2008 version with the chorus of BV's...2009 ALL NIGHT is PUNK PUNK PUNK...awesome...
The 2 Canada shows are sensational...the crowd really sound huge and draw you in to every song...beautiful versions of Wishlist and Off He Goes
San Francisco also amazing with a memorable version of Black which Mike blows the doors off!!! Altho, still not sure about the piano in Black....
Got Some and The Fixer are so ballsy, fresh and alive...certainly not the produced album versions...i love both versions but they have bigger balls live...GOT SOME slaps like a big wet salmon!!...this will be a live favourite!!
NOW TO THOSE HATERS WHO WANT CERTAIN SONGS RETIRED OR THOSE FUCK WITS WHO GO FOR SMOKES OR PEE'S DURING CERTAIN SONGS....you know who you are...

THESE BOOTS ARE THE TRUEST REFLECTION OF THE BEAUTIFUL EVENT THAT IS A PEARL JAM SHOW...EVERY EMOTION, ENERGY, NOTE AND EVEN THE BUM-NOTES TOO, EXCELLENTLY RECORDED AND MIXED....

23 wasn't too shabby either.
I am anxiously awaiting getting Chicago 24 - GREAT show. To know the boot is of such high quality makes me tingle with anticipation.

I planned to buy them all anyway, but you made me do it right now..
Im not sure how much tinkering with protools or logic has gone on to be honest...i mean that all the fluffs (mistakes) are all still there...theres plectrum scratch and also you can hear ed pulling too and from the mic...i think its really down to quality recording and mixing...as the post mentions below yours, the 2008's were really lacking in the mix...the sounds werent so bad but just really fell short in the mixing...Quality recording mixing and mastering here...QUALITY!!!
Awesome!!! tell you what, for whats available in the shops/charts these days, under $50 for over 130 songs of this sound quality is great value..ENJOY!!!

Im not sure if they're up anywhere to hear snippets of...ive listened to all 5 now more than once and the quality for me is the best of all the boots...
