Twilight: New Moon Soundtrack is...pretty good.

I mean, I'm not exactly a fan of the movies, and I think the director is friendly with a lot of musicians which explains how he got these artists to agree to this, but this soundtrack doesn't suck:
1. Death Cab for Cutie – “Meet Me on the Equinox”
2. Band of Skulls – “Friends”
3. Thom Yorke – “Hearing Damage”
4. Lykke Li – “Possibility”
5. The Killers – “A White Demon Love Song”
6. Anya Marina – “Satellite Heart”
7. Muse – “I Belong to You (New Moon)”
8. Bon Iver and St. Vincent – “Roslyn”
9. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – “Done All Wrong”
10. Hurricane Bells – “Monsters”
11. Sea Wolf – “The Violet Hour”
12. OK Go – “Shooting The Moon”
13. Grizzly Bear – “Slow Life”
14. Editors – “No Sound But the Wind”
15. Alexandre Desplat – “New Moon (The Meadow)”
I'm a fan of Thom Yorke, Band of Skulls, Bon Iver, St. Vincent, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Grizzly Bear, and Editors.

Whoooahh, back up - you did not just go there.
Transformers 2 is not worse!! It's totally ridiculous and childish...but Twilight!! Agh!
Imagine a Pearl Jam song in either movie, it would be pretty weird to say the least.
believe me i thought about it before i posted but i figured i could slide it by cause really imo theyre as bad as each other... i found transformers 2 to be an insult to my intelligence whereas twilight was just sweet valley high vapidness with fangs.. AND they killed the best vampire!!! but at least twilight had that beautiful pacific northwest scenery.

haha, "Sweet Valley High" ...i think you nailed it right there.
Oh my beloved Bon Iver... how the mighty have fallen..
I bet the song is going to kick ass though..

i am sorry, and i know i am going to get a bunch of backlash on this, pearl jam has been on a soundtrack for a bad movie. just like twilight is for the younger generation, Singles was a movie for our generation and as much as people love it, is it because it's well acted and has a great story or is it because it had all of our musical heroes on the soundtrack? my vote is for the latter. i've listened to the soundtrack dozens of more times than i've seen the movie and the last time the movie was on, i could barely sit through it.
all those early 90's record store movies were fun at the time but were mostly about getting people in the theater because of the soundtrack.
get the idea of "selling out" out of your head. times are changing and musicians have to find different avenues to make money so they can continue making the music we love.
WHy isn't it good to get a good band's music out to others?
I think too many people think they are better than others and more deserving of listening to a band and I think it's crap.
If a film has a soundtrack that can help a band reach a new audience, well then fair play.
Look at what Garden State did for The Shins. It made them an international band, the mainstream media in europe had ever heard of them before that.
I remember a found a lot of new music through the Kill Bill, Empire Records, Pulp Fiction soundtracks in particular.
Better to have a poor film with a good soundtrack than a poor film with a poor soundtrack!
aaah so now the truth emerges. im sorry for your loss.

It's a pain that never ends.
Because that defeats the purpose of being an elitist.
Well how else are they supposed to prove how elite they are? Sheesh!

Overall, I, for the most part, love soundtracks. I think that they are a wonderful opportunity for bands to get their sound out to a wider audience and create sales for their own works.
...
I guess I'll just have to live with the people asking me WHY do I have the 'Twilight' soundtrack in my collection.
Hail, Hail!!!
