This has to be the best album as a live albume they have put out in a long while.

epic monsters: amongst the waves, unknown thought, force of nature, are gonna be the new given to fly/in my tree live.

Not to mention the whole album will be awesome live, but those 3 are the fav's for me.

Has anyone witnessed these live?

    Amongst the Waves is going to be HUGE live!! Can't wait!
    I heard Unthought Known, The End, and Speed of Sound live on the EV solo tours - they were FANTASTIC!
    I totally agree - this album will really lend itself to live play 8-)

  • That's what keeps getting me all choked up with just about every song - thinking about how fucking awesome these songs are going to be live! Can't wait for Amongst The Waves and Unthought Known, and the rest for that matter!
    Sydney 3 1998; Brisbane 1 2003; Sydney 1/2/3 2003; Brisbane 1/2 2006; Sydney 1/2/3 2006; Melbourne 1/2 2006; Adelaide 2009; EV Solo Sydney 1 2011.
  • these songs just have huge builds. and the energy they are going to give to the show will just add to the legend of PJ shows that they are known for. They will also add an upbeat optimistic feelgood vibe which should add more depth to their shows given for their serious dark side.
  • Hopefully they'll play the entire album in sequence during one of the upcoming shows, like they did in 2006 for "avocado" (maybe 10/31 in Philly?)

    Indy 2010, Indy 2003, Champaign 2003, Cincy 2000, Indy 2000
    Indy 1998, West Lafayette 1994, Chicago-Lollapalooza 1992
    Cincy-Lollapalooza 1992
    ======================================

    I pledge my grievance to the flag.
  • I agree. This album screams live shows... I think they got together and said look we are tired of playing a majority of our songs from 1991 - 1998...Lets get some quick new songs that will be kick ass live to add some variety to the shows. Well they certainly delivered.
  • I wonder why they don't play more newer songs live. I guess Ed has always wanted to please mainstream fans with favs. Kinda sad, i think binaural riotact and avocado have awesome stuff that translates well live, but they don't play much from them.

    I think they will play these songs in live shows for a long time. I hope they ressurect those three albums live though.
