I did a search to see if this was posted and couldn't find anything amongst the clusterfuck of crap that comes up when you run a search on this board now, so sorry if I missed it.

    Is this the mike interview or is this actually confirmed. I'm on my phone and the link automatically redirects me to the mobile version and i cant find the article.

    this sounds more definite, but i still remember the rumors they were spreading when self titled came out and how they had a lot of songs left over that didnt make the album, and how they were toying with the idea of a lost dogs 2 type deelie. so with that being said... ill believe it when i see it
    In July 2007 Densmore said that he would not rejoin The Doors unless it was fronted by Eddie Vedder. Densmore says, "I play with Jim. If there's someone of that level, OK. I'm not gonna join them with Ian. That's not to diss Ian, he's a good singer - but he's no Jim Morrison. Eddie Vedder? My God, there's a singer."

    Hmmmm, a new album soon? I would gladly take this new efficient tighter approach to making albums if it meant more Pearl Jam more often! Maybe they will be able to now that they are free of the record company shackles.

    It seems that people are interpreting that they will release these songs in 6 months. I interpret it to mean that the band will go back into the studio in 6 months to finish those songs. I think Mike implied that the songs are there but they aren't finished songs.

    A classic case of a headline writer looking to draw in readers by twisting what was said. Mike said they might finish some songs, which would be cool.

    Maybe the tracks are going to be released in context to the Backspacer theme. Some of the press for Backspacer mentioned the E-Bridge technology used for the CD and getting the free bootlegs and how it would be updated with new media occasionally. Maybe the idea is to get the other songs out there to appease the "fans" who don't like Backspacer for it's artistic direction.

    That'll be cool to have Pearl Jam albums every two years (or 18 months) like in the old days.

    if by "one in the crowd" you mean someone who actually searches the topics before posting a new thread, then yes, I am guilty. :|
