  • i know, i saw that and was kinda pissed too
  • if you read the whole thing like dont just focus on that, Im pretty sure its referring to the distributor, with respect to the world excluding the US as in the US its being distributed by Monkeywrench
"Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV
  • Just a copyright thing, not a slight against the States. Or it could have something to do with the album being distributed by Universal around the world and by the band directly (or Target) in the States.
    1998 - 11/3 (SYD2)
    2003 - 11/2 (SYD1), 13/2 (SYD2), 14/2 (SYD3), 8/7 (MSG1), 9/7 (MSG2), 11/7 (BOS3)
    2006 - 7/11 (SYD1), 8/11 (SYD2), 10/11 (BRIS1), 18/11 (SYD3)
    2009 - 20/11 (MEL), 22/11 (SYD)
    2011 - 18/3 (EVSYD1), 19/3 (EVSYD2), 24/3 (EVMEL1), 25/3 (EVMEL2)
    2014 - 26/1 (BDOSYD)
  • Easy, now. Different copyright laws internationally and domestically, probably.
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win ."

"With our thoughts we make the world"
  • "With respect to the world excluding the United States of America, distributed by Universal Music Group"

it means that internationally the record was distributed by universal. it obviously is copyrighted worldwide including the u.s.
"Change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks"
  • They hate America. I thought that was made obvious when they wrote Bushleaguer. But Im sure oit has something to do with the fact that the album is a independent release and America but released by Universal?? everywhere else in the world.
    Get over here!

Surely you say this in jest..right? Otherwise, it is a pretty ridiculous statement. Anyway..I often miss when people are just being sarcastic.

The line is purely related to distribution and nothing else.

You guys seriously need to chill out.. they've mentioned it in about 50 articles already that there are two different distributors.. one internationally and one for the US..

yeah but what the hell does that got to do with excluding the US from world respect? it's just an odd phrasing for them to put on the back, obviously I'm not the only one who noticed it.

Exactly, in this case it would be the following.

    16. with respect to, referring to; concerning: with respect to your latest request.

    From Dissident67 post:
"With respect to the world excluding the United States of America, distributed by Universal Music Group".

Do you seriously think that the band has no respect for the US? Not even in the middle the W years did they say they have no respect for the country. Logically it doesn't even make sense. Why would their be no respect if USA voted for Obama, the same man who the band voted for.

A lot of people say they have "noticed" Bigfoot and UFOs does that mean they exist..
  • isn't all legal jargon pretentious and odd?

It is sort of a weird way of saying what they are trying to say. We all read it the wrong way initially. It's too bad its on there. People in the south are not gonna get it and be even more pissed at PJ.

Um, I live in the South and I certainly know that "with respect to" means in regards to. And, no, not all of us read this the wrong way initially. It's a pretty standard phrase.

I sure hope the original post was a joke. If not, good god.

I'm looking at it and I'm not seeing it... Is this only on the US version? If so, that is hilarious
Even copyright statements already touch patriotic sentiments... Jeewiz... This is all taken too seriously.
