Which STONE solo is the best?

OK, this is going to be tougher than coming up with your favorite McCready solos, but in the interest of equal opportunity...

We all know Stone as more of a riffmaster (In Hiding, anyone?) but his solos are very tasteful, usually more melodic than Mike's blazing pentatonics. I love the wah-wah solo on Rats (I admit, I thought this was Mike until a couple years ago) and RITFW from Boston 2 in '06 (with Theo Epstein on rhythm guitar!).

Of course, you know Stoney is really feeling it during a solo when he gets this pained look on his face like someone is removing his appendix without anesthesia:

Not For You is classic, and I love all the mini-solos in Do the Evolution, which, by the way, is a pure Stone tour de force.
I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side.
I am right by your side.

  • Not For You, Lolla 07.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.
  • Some of the things he does during live versions of Indifference are very melodic. Specifically Boston 06.

Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

Brain Of J is a great one. He really shreds on that.
I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

  • Not For You is the quintessential Stone solo....but Rockin in the Free World is usually the most impressive.
