i know i know...they said they would try to get it to us by the day of the release...but the whole point of a pre-order is to give those who pre-ordered it an advantage and priority over people who are buying it through general sales...i mean what's the point of a pre-order if there's no advantage to it? might as well just get rid of the whole idea of a pre-order if they aren't going to get it to us in a timely fashion...if i get it a few days late, then fine, i can deal with that, but the fact it hasn't even been SHIPPED yet means it will be about a week, perhaps more late. that's ridiculous...that's 7+ days of being out of the loop. everyone can talk about backspacer vinyl on here, but not those who haven't gotten it yet. this includes not only the music, but the fine print and the packaging and all those goodies. it's like a must see movie had just come out, and everyone has seen it except certain people...i just don't find it fair that people who made an effort early on to get it are rewarded last. if they knew the vinyl shipping was going to be late, they should have held back shipping the vinyl to the stores.

The Vinyl Pre-order helps 10C determine how many copies to press. I don't imagine each Target will get a lot of these. Since Target doesn't normally carry vinyl, I would imagine each store only gets....what 10? 15? Then they might have to deal with returning "unsold" stock (if there were to be such a thing!). Plus, Target isn't just dealing with Sony or Universal or BMG. The 10c, via the pre-sale, knows how many vinyl are already spoken for, so they probably only printed....1,000? 2,000 extra copies for Targets nationwide?
How else do you explain "Avocado" being so coveted on e-bay only 3 years after release?? Not as much as Benny, but I still can't believe this album ever goes for more than $25. But it does.
Finally, as has been said before, if I were 10c, I imagine there were far more CDs to mail than vinyl, & I would want them out of the way 1st. Vinyl is more time-consuming to package blah blah blah. Hey....we've been waiting since at LEAST July for this to drop...what's another week? I mean, we never get the x-mas single on time, either! Just think....your vinyl is appreciating in value even as we speak!

(P.S.:) Try to steer clear of here until your vinyl shows up. That way, when we finally get it...it's kinda like Christmas coming outta nowhere!
Though this thread is locked because it got ridiculously nasty, Santos posted in there on the 16th saying vinyl would start shipping later that week... so Im assuming it already shipped or it will on Monday...
and mrs. vedder...it may be shipped monday, but we still wont get it till friday or later...too late...like i said pre-orders deserve higher priority...that IS the whole point of a pre-order you know
not sure why they did this seeing as how this band is the champion of vinyl but perhaps 10c was overwhelmed with cd orders but i wonder why they couldn't have been shipped at the same time...either way it wasn't gonna get to me this weekend (cd didn't) so i went out and bought one at my local shop...i couldn't wait to hear it on vinyl and i wasn't disappointed
