the shirts haven't even arrived in Cincinnati yet. Wtf?
I was told by a very helpful young man at Target that they had gotten an e-mail
from the distributor just this morning informing them they wouldn't be in until Tuesday
and there were no guarantees that they would even have them then.
Damn. They did have about 18,000 copies of Backspacer though!
**On a sidenote, it was pretty cool to see an album in Target...brought back childhood memories of my parents taking me to Target on the weekends so I could buy a record.
The other cool thing, is that all the televisions in the electronics section are periodically cycling the Fixer commercial. So it's cool to see the band/album being promoted.
Funny thing about that, I had a dream last night that I walked into Target and the lights in the electronics section were off and there were disco lights all around and they were playing the Oceans video but the lyrics were for Release...random.
(Sorry for the cross post, I originally posted in the wrong thread and now it won't let me edit)
Um, how is it "stealing" when I waited in line with my purchase and the Target clerk forgot to ring something up? I didn't realize that the album wasn't on the reciept and that I hadn't paid for it until after I left the store and got home... It's not like I hid it under my shirt or in my purse and snuck out of the store w/out paying for it. If I did that, then it would make me a thief. But that didn't happen. The store's mngr. (who rang me up) was the one who screwed up by not scanning it and still put in my bag with the rest of my purchase, not me. I'm not a thief, never was, never will be and I don't appreciate the self rightous hypocrites who say I am. Sour grapes... You mean to tell me if this happened to you that you would drive an hour back to Target to rectify a mistake that the store made in your favor? If your answer is "yes" that's BS; what a stroke...
Furthermore, PJ won't take a loss on this, Target will, for having idiots at the cash register not ring up someones purchase correctly.
Also, the 3 shirts were for myself, my husband, and son, not buying extras to sell... So get bent! Sounds like jealousy to me... So go ahead and bash all you want: "Tough titty said the kitty, but the milk's still good!"
Went to a Columbus, Ohio target, only had few amount of cd's, no shirts, no vinyls :-(
"I'll ride the wave,Where it takes me, I'll hold the pain, Release me"
"I'm not about to give thanks or appologize"
"Caught a bolt of lighting, cursed the day he let it go"
found em at Target in Oswego, IL.
only bought one.
not sure if this is the case with all of them, but the picture on the front is no where near straight.
i looked at everyone and they were the same.
it is a cool looking shirt.
they only had about 30 of em i think.
they were sitting on the counter in electronics.
I'll add my story (posted some of this in another related thread)... went to Target in Queens NYC at 8am... already got the CD in the mail, but noticed no CDs at the store... no vinyl LPs, but 2 copies of the fixer (Also already have it) 45 that looked like they had been in a used record store (heavily damaged!)...
NO SHIRTS... bummed... but then a thought occured - "hey wait a minute, this is f*cking target... not the smartest employees in the world"
So, I looked around and found them... IN THE BOYS SECTION near other "vintage" Ts... I bought an XL for me (which is really like a L) and a M for the wife (which is really like a S, and still too big for her -- why no women's sizes, PJ?)... chances are, unless they have gotten calls about them, the employees have no clue what they are -- or how valuable they are to collectors.
Point is - LOOK AROUND!!! If they aren't in electronics, go to the clothing area... Not there? Ask.
I totally understand the 1-per-customer limit, but for those of us with multiple fans in the family - that is weak. Thankfully, nimrods that work at target in the big apple didn't care or notice... The store i was at had about 15 or so... OH, and i even put the tag under the price reader and it specifically said "In Stockroom: NO" meaning what was out was all they had!!
My bigger Q is why is there vinyl in the stores, but not yet shipped from 10C?
What a fiasco! My Target had not put them on the floor yet, and acted like they had no clue what I was talking about( even though the Target add has 2 pages of Pearl JAM!!!) Thankfully a sweet guy with a PJ appreciation helped me out, and found a box of Backspacer shirts!!!! YEAH!!!!!
I got two in Dundee, IL Tartget! The guy said to me I could only buy one, my response was you see my wife standing next to me? How can I be selfish and just by me one and not get her one? He looked at her and ranged her up seperately. My wife and I left happy and rocked out all morning to our new CD
Went to the Target at State College, PA about 2 hours ago....they had the t-shirts still in a box but I managed to get one....the guy that showed me where it was said to me, "man these guys still ship their music on Vinyl...very cool...does anyone even HAVE a record player though to play it?" I told him, "trust me, get on the fan club website...LOTS of people love to get the Vinyl versions." The Target people were very Pearl Jam friendly though this morning...made me feel good.
I went to the Target in Woburn, MA and they didn't have anything - I was surprised that they didn't even have any CDs there! They really should have planned this better...

Went to the Druid Hills (Atlanta) Target at 8:45am. Employees were falling asleep at the counter.
No PJ cds displayed ANYWHERE. Of course no shirts either.
I'd be interested to know if they even put the album out today or if they are waiting for Tuesday.
I didn't bother asking anybody as I would presume it would be futile.
Then about 2 hours later I went to the Buckhead (Atlanta) Target and the album was everywhere - both in the music section and at the checkout. Numerous copies.
No shirts to be found.
Walked up to a friendly Target employee who said he got the t-shirt question a few times already but couldn't find it anywhere.
I read through the message board and explained to him that the tshirts are likely in a small box in the back. Just about 10 or so in the box.
He said let me give it a shot. Went back and within 2 minutes had all the tshirts in his arms. Picked up an XL.
Just purchased one in Fishers, IN. Went to the store earlier today to get the RB version, couldn't find the shirts then, figured they weren't in yet. Saw the thread, so I called the store. They said they only had a couple left. Went back to the store, they had them locked up in electronics. The clerk said they had them on the table behind the registers, but had people going back and getting them, so they had to lock them up. She asked how we knew about them, we explained that PJ fans were obsessive and knew the list of stores that were to have them today. She was so shocked that they were selling them since they weren't in the ad. They had 1 large and a couple medium left.

NO shit! I feel like writing return to sender on my ten club vinyl when it comes in and getting a credit on my credit card. $27.50 and not even shipped when I could walk into Target today and get it for $20.

Target at IH35 and Parmer has the shirts. They are not displayed as of 9:30am but locked up in the electronics cabinet at the register. You have to ask for them.
Got mine at the Roseville, CA store. Right as you enter the store, go right and boom, there it is.
And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear
And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without
My best... friend. Wake up, to see you could have it all

it wasn't on a rack, it was behind the electronics counter...and the sizes seem to be running very small...i normally take a medium to a large in a tshirt and today i had to buy an XL

Hadley, MA had no CDs or shirts this morning. I found an employee who a fan, who really went out of his way to find the goods cuz he was looking for them himself. He knew that Hadley was on the shirt list before I brought it up. His supervisor said they are expecting a truck with the CDs tonight(?) but he hadn't heard anything about any shirts.

You only went to target to pick up the shirts and cd (you made note thats the only reason you went) the cd was 12 bucks and the shirt is 20. The math in your head shouldve said hmmm the t shirt and cd for 20 bucks, somethings not right. Now the typical response to what im saying is "well i went and bought more than the cd and shirt" but i wont buy that for a second. You said you went to target for the sole purpose of buying the shirt, 3 of them in fact. if im shopping i watch the cashier scan my things so the price is correct and i also have a mental note in my head about how much all my purchases should be. And when its not close ill look at the receipt before i leave a store. I mean thats the smart thing to do. I worked retail for years and i know prices get messed up so i just dont take my stuff home and THEN look at receipt. I am just not buying your excuse to cover up screwing a band and store out of money. Go back and pay for it, who cares if its 1.5 hours away. Morally you know thats the right thing to do.

This is so bogus, seriously Target. Husband went to Target in Plainville Ma had some CDs, no vinyl no shirts. He said he looked everywhere, including the silly vintage tshirt section and no dice. Of course he didn't ask anyone. But come on target this is part of yr contract w pearljam so get yr s@$! together.
i bought my t shirts today up in ankeny iowa at around noon today. There was 8 t shirts left, 1 xl, 3 large and 4 mediums. I didnt know there was a limit and neither did the cashier so i picked up a large and an xl cuz the XL looked small!! I hope these dont shrink.
