Heading out to my local Target in a bit for 8:00am EDT opening. I'm interested to see if there will be some sort of line outside waiting for the doors to open... I don't think there will be but you never know...

I'll post a follow-up when I get back including pics of the t-shirts.

I'm at the store now. They don't have the shirts (this is one of the stores listed as having it) and the only Backspacer CD they have is the deluxe version for $11.99. No special edition $29.99 version with Rock Band code

my store doesn't have the shirts either. they didn't even have the cd's out...just a sign that says the cd will be released today.

i wouldn't be so pissed if i wasn't hung over and tired!

Where did u get the list of stores that have the Tshirt? From the people at target? or is it floating around online somewhere.

UPDATE on my experience.

Fairfield, NJ Target

I was there at 8am outside just as doors opened. I was the only person there for PJ, 5 others were there for other things. I walk to electronics and see the following blowout marketing blitz Target is putting into this EXCLUSIVE release of Backspacer:

what's that about 50 copies? LOL They were only the $11.99 version and they did not have the Rock Band version.

I asked the electronics clerk about the shirts and he looked at me like I had two heads (like why am I asking for shirts in electronics) and sent me to Men's clothing. I go there and talk to a woman who works there everyday and manages the merchandise and she has heard/seen nothing about this special t-shirt.

So I leave Target with nothing and head back home and catch some Zzzz's. I check the boards here and see that people kept pressuring electronice and they find them, so I call another Target in my area and they say they do not have the shirts but that Fairfield does. I tell them "no they don't I was there 8am when they opened and the clerk there knew nothing about them." they say that the system says Fairfield has 6 of them.

At this point it is 10:30am and I give Fairfiled a call and ask about the shirts and the clerk now says, I just sold about 4 of them, they're all gone...

can you believe it? I saw the link for purchasing them online but they only have medium and they charge for shipping so eff that. I'll just wait and hope more shipments are sent into the stores this week. At least now I know for sure they will be in electronics dept.

I headed to my two local Targets to hopefully score the Rock Band version of Backspacer. Neither had them or the deluxe version. The clerks even checked their computer systems and nada. Someone has really dropped the ball on this album release and i'm getting the feeling it's Target.

You know it would be so bad, but Target is the only place around here that I can actually go in and pick the album up. Thank the lord I preordered from 10C but it still urks me that no one will be buying this album in my area. Matter of fact Pearl Jam and Target need to get their act together or this album release is going to be a colossal failure. That would be a shame because Backspacer is an incredible musical achievement IMHO.

I mean, I live in a land that works as usual on Sundays but I know many services are reduced overthere?....
