SLC...pre/post party?

So I have been digging through the posts trying to find a thread for SLC, sorry if I am making a duplicate thread, you can point me to it if you want 
But I am from Denver, headed to the SLC show 9/28, and I was wondering if there were any other people from the area staying there, what is a good hotel to stay at near the venue, and if anyone is pre partying and/or doing anything after the show. I am flying in (not enough time to drive) the morning of the show and flying out the next day, so I will have the day to kill while I am there. Any suggestions?
