Another chance for Ed to honor The Who?
A few days ago, the Kennedy Center honorees were announced. This is an annual black tie gala in December shown later on CBS. George and Laura Bush will be there. $4,000 per ticket. This year the six honorees are Barbra Streisand, Morgan Freeman, George Jones (country music), Twyla Tharp (dance), and Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey. It's my understanding the honorees don't make an acceptance speech or perform, but rather sit in a box with the president while special guests give tributes. Most of the publicity will the intersection of liberal Streisand and the Bushes, but I am wondering if Eddie and/or PJ will be called upon (again) to perform a Who tribute. Elton John is a past honoree and is on the nominating committee, so we might get Pinball Wizard. If Eddie does perform, will he 1) wear a tux and 2) resist a dig at Dubya?

This would be a security risk to the president, Ed has threatened to hang him.
Oh but how exciting it would be if they accidentally let him in, and then we could just watch the explosion, that would be good TV. Fuck Bush, I wish Townshend would boycott the event.
chris cornell and grohl were there
