Haven't heard Backspacer yet but this post kinda worries me...

Wishlist is quite possibly my least favorite PJ song.

  • Definitely not a wanker...but...I think we get his point. I enjoyed your little rant :D
  • umm.. bob dylan is not a wanker :?
If by Wanker he means greatest lyricist of all time, then yes I agree with him.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

No he does not mean it.
Anyhow, two plays in and its growing on me and that does worry me! Usually it takes about 5 plays for a PJ album to hit the :D:D:D:D:D or :D:D:D:D:) as everyone of their catalogue has for me.
  • I hope it grows on me after a few more listens, but I am stunned how good self-titled is after listening to Backspacer.

It is simply the most knock you on your ass stunningly perfect record theyve made..i've never been as excited by any Pj release as I am with this one. It's solid, consistent, beautiful and it's FUN!!

Pj's masterpiece? possibly too early to say but definitely in as a serious contender.

    10/10

I can't get enough of Just Breathe. Lyrics are perfect.
  • Got my copy in the mail last night. All I can say is Wow! After all the hype I gotta say I was a little worried, but Pearl Jam never lets us down. The album truly is a solid piece of artistic genious. I love Amongst the Waves and Supersonic. I just can't wait to hear it on vinyl.

I think that is the new definition of Wanker according to the Webster Dictionary. (Bob Dylan X-mas cd October 13th!)

But I am STOKED! I think I'm looking forward to "The End" the most...

Yeah ok. Cause the 9,000 other songs do not deserve credit.

What? I was simply stating how excited I was for the new cd. I love all of Dylan's stuff. I downloaded 5 viruses onto my laptop last year looking for all 108 of the basement tapes (found them 3 months later :D )

bob dylan is an american icon and legend,
    end of story.

and, we are using " wishlist" for a pearl jam barometer ?
that is beyond horrible a choice,
as much as i might enjoy wishlist and the big disco mirrorball.

I was there! Took my girlfriend. We both love Mellencamp as well (been kind of OUR thing ya know). So it was like my birthday and x-mas all rolled into one. I thought Dylan sounded the best I've seen him. You could understand his voice more then usual. I was not a fan of Willie however.

IMO Backspacer is prolly PJ's 3rd best album....Backspacer will be remembered as being to Pearl Jam what Quadrophenia is to The Who. By that, I mean it will be the greatest album they record that doesn't exactly sound much like the others but will be regarded as quintessential Pearl Jam.
