I'll go first. I'm in a 12 team league, where u start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF, and 1FLEX(RB,WR,TE)

QB-Matt Ryan
QB-Mat Cassell
RB-Westbrook
RB-W. Parker
RB-J. Lewis
RB-D. Sproels
WR-Roddy White
WR-Marques Colston
WR-Vincent Jackson
WR-Louis Murphiy
WR-Heyward-Bey
TE-Kellen Winslow
TE-Shockey
K- Kris Brown
Def-Ravens

I have issues at RB.... Parker vs Bears, Sproels vs Ravens, Lewis vs Broncos???? Or just make a trade for a RB?

  • not good match-ups at all... I'd stay away from Sproels against the Ravens. I like Parker this week... Chicago gave up some rushing yards against cincy, and are without Urlacher, and after all of the talk about Pittsburgh's rushing game sucking, I think that they will do all they can do run the ball.

I'm stuck at QB... I have Schaub & Orton, it's gonna be a coin flip every week. The rest of my roster is pretty strong.

should I stick with the Ravens D after they gave up so many points last week? Or use my backup--Green Bay? hmmm

thanx! Parker will get the start

You waited to draft a QB didn't ya? Do you have either Andre Johnson or Brandon Marshall? If you have a combo I would go with that. Shaub is the better QB, and he's going against a Titans secondary who was torched by Ben Roethlisberger

  • Being from Baltimore, I say stick with the Ravens D. LT is hurt, corners are a little weak, but the pass rush is pretty solid so Rivers won't have all day. Which leads me to my problem. I have Rivers and Favre, who should I start? Furthermore, I have Percy Harvin, Bernard Berrian, Earl Bennett (Cutler's main target last week), and Jerricho Cotchery. I can only start one of these recievers, but do not know who to start, ay suggestions?

don't take advice from someone that says Chicago gave up yards vs. Cincy. Chicago played GreenBay and were pretty stout vs both the pass and rush, even with Brian on the sidelines for half the game.

Cincy played Denver. I'm not sure about those stats

How the hell did I get Denver & Chicago mixed up in my head? Must be the whole Cutler/Orton thing or something.... Sorry... so maybe Lewis might be a good matchup.

I still think that Pittsburgh is going to put a concentrated effort into running the ball this weekend, and that should help Parker.

duly noted. i'll recant my statement.

i don't see parker doing much of anything. he is a chump and the Bears D is still pretty good without #54 (or so i hope). ok, so i am also hoping park chumps it since i took Rashard as a late round gamble.

I'd start harvin. Favre likes him, looks for him, and it's the Lions. The Rivers/Favre thing is a bit tougher, but I'd go with Rivers. It could be 31-3 at the half thanks to AP, and that'll shut down the Vikings passing game. Rivers could get a boost from the loss of LT, not in the real world, but in the FF world
  • My biggest decision for this week is which defense to start, against each other: Philly or NO? Like an idiot, I benched Philly last week in favor of NO due to matchups (NO/Detroit, Philly/Carolina). Philly scored 52, NO 16. I still won by 57 rendering my bonehead move moot, but I still would have loved to have those points...Now this week, If I start Philly, it's against the dreaded Saints offense, while the Saints match up against a McNabb-less Philly team. I'm leaning heavily towards Philly since they have the better unit, and am expecting 0 points for Yards allowed and Points against, and hoping for a few picks and a DTD or 2

I start Sproles like I would have started LT three years ago. Any team anytime.

That dude is just plain good. Fast Willie isn't looking so hot these days.

Good stuff. I'm on target to win all three of my games this week. I just need Wayne to score less than 95 yards and 2 TD's, or 150 yards and 1 TD. So pretty good shot.

And in the other league still in question I need Manning to score less than like 300 yards and 3 TD's.

Both of those things could happen, but I like my chances.
  • I'm looking to trade for a RB, I'm willing to ship one of my TE's or RB's. Who's a RB you think I could get for a shockey/winslow?

I don't think you could command a very good back for any TE, even the best of the bunch isn't worth too much more than whomever the guy already would have.

Perhaps a low 3rd stringer or high 4th stringer if you are lucky.

Now with that said if you have a good trading partner then you could command a higher type RB. You need a team that is loaded with RB talent and has a crappy TE.

If you give some specifics about a probable trading partner, then perhaps I could help a bit more.

Okay. There's a guy who owns Drew Breese, but no other Saints. I was thinking he could use Shockey on his squad. I have Colston, but he's on the untouchable list( I'm happy with my recieving core). This players RB's are Hightower, Portis and Thomas Jones. Who should I go after? Willing to do a package deal

Thing is: I don't like to be that dude who low balls guys with trade offers, it makes you look a asshole. :D

if those are his only RB's, i doubt he will want to trade any of them for a TE. he is already thin at the position.

Agreed. You would be good to snag one of his Running Backs, I just don't think Shockey can command one of them by himself, and as 81 says, especially if those are his only three backs then he NEEDS them all for buy weeks.

I see you mention some type of package deal, but don't know who else you would offer.

With that said I would rank them in order of who I would want as:

Portis (a little long in the tooth, but the main guy)
    Jones (in a timeshare)
    Hightower (In a timeshare)

Perhaps throw Shockey and one of your less desired RB's at him for one of those guys? (I have shockey rated somewhere around 12 to 15th best TE, so chances are the guy you are targeting already has a better TE?

    You have great Wideouts.

I woud try to move Roddy White for a premier back. Starting Colston and Jackson is money, but starting 3 RB's is key. With Westbrook ailing and Parker and Lewis looking 'old', you really need another back. Your only position of strength for trading is probably 1 of your three stud WR's.

Not a fan of Heyward-Bey this year or Louis Murphy. If you trade one of your stud Wideouts, I would look to pick up a guy off the wire. Perhaps Walker-Sims, Knox, or Manningham if any of those guys are available.

You need to trade something good to get something good.
  • I know I need another RB, that's why I'm trying to address this problem early. There was another player, who after week 1 offered me S. Jackson & Hester, for Colston & White. DECLINED (Hester can't run a route to save his life,) You think Jackson still got it??

I'm in a point per reception league, so WR's are huge. IMO, I don't think I need a premier back. Just a guy who gets in the endzone from time to time.

Not a big fan of the Raiders WR's either. Figured J. Russell can throw a good deep-ball, someone had to catch it. Later found out he lovers dumping it off to Miller. :)

    If I shop Roddy/Shockey/Parker, who's a RB i should target?
