If Wishlist and Faithful had sex...

...the offspring would be Unthought Known. And let it say that this is a wonderful thing. They NAILED this song (no pun intended). Just a tour de force. Upon 10 initial listens, this is my favorite. A classic build to the climax song (again, no pun), like Faithful, Given to Fly, Love Boat Cpt., etc. Just a great piece of music.

ah damn you got there before me, or it could of been faithlist
I mean it's a good song, but it's not THAT good. Lets calm down and not let the "new" feel blind us from the past.
It's faithful and wishlist, two gems off of Yield. You really can't make that comparison.
Yes you can and it is that good. Better even.

While I think that it's nearly impossible to say that one song sounds like the illegitimate child of another two songs-- I do believe that Unthought Known is Pearl Jam at their very best. This is one of my favorite songs by this band, period. Now, now I know you'll say that I'm just being blinded by the "new" PJ phenomenon. But, not with this one. I love this song-- It moves me, it builds, it rocks, it's unbelievably poetic, and features Ed sounding better than ever. A great song on GREAT album...and I haven't felt this way about a PJ release in quite a while (that's not to say that I haven't enjoyed them...but this one is special...I feel it).
I'm not even a big Wishlist person. You are missing the point. To me, it sounds like Wishlist at the beginning and the lyrics have a similar feel. And the song "moves" like Faithful for me. Not saying it's better/worse than either song. It just sounds like a mix of the two.
