    Hmm no-one was too bothered about the strings nirvana used... These suit the songs and show pearl jam staying true to their sound, but also maturing and growing as musicians. I like it.

    They did WAY to much with Speed of Sound, the demo was much better in my opinion.

    i think the violins are a good touch to the end cause their fairly understated so they dont take over a song but you still feel their impact too

    Never listened to the demo, but I am really diggin Speed of Sound. Great melody and warmth.

    I've listened to it about 10 times now, and it just doesn't compare to the demo to me.

    Just the fact that I played the hell out of that demo, I was expecting something amazing with Speed of Sound, but now that I think about it you can't top Ed and his six string.
