The damage of having Kurt in a video game

I think Dave and Krist, over the past 15 years have shown themselves to be men of integrity and are righteous individuals. They could have cashed in on being in the biggest band of the 1990's, but have rarely done so.
And I completely agree with them when they said, Kurt deserves respect and that his words and music meant and mean a great deal to people. I am one of those people.
That said, I really dont understand how unlocking his character in a video game and having him mime singing along to other artists songs is sullying and dirtying his memory or his image.
I have said time and time again, the music world that existed in the early 90's doesnt exist anymore. Back then, it was the mark of shame to be commercial, to have your songs used in commercials and such. These days, I think with dwindling physical cd sales, its a reality that bands must face. To make money they lose off illegal downloading they must liscence songs for tv/movies/commercials. And I really dont think thats a bad thing. As absurd as The Shins liscensing a song to Mcdonald's was a few years back, or for Issac Brock to soundtrack a Miller Light commercial, its just as insane to suggest the companies they sold the songs to had any say in how the band created the songs, or the artistry of the song.
Is having a nirvana song in a video game something Kurt would have wanted in 1991-1994 probably not. But had he lived, I think he might have changed his views.
I know for me, many times the soundtracking of a song to an emotional scene in a movie or tv show, far from mucking up my own view of the song and ruining it for me, actually in many cases causes the song to mean more, and adds more depth and emotion to the song.
remember that essay by the Of Montreal frontman a few years back. He said basically the same thing.
