i don't see/hear it as overreaching...i think he's in touch with the song. the mood of that song lends itself to a very vulnerable vocal performance. at least, that's how i see/hear it.

Regarding "The End"
I have to admit when Ed sang this on the solo tour, it somewhat made me cringe watching him try to reach some of these notes - and if you knew me, you'd know - i am never, NEVER, critical of Ed singing - but this song had places that made it very difficult to watch. It looked painful.
However, I like the view MFC has shared regarding the song lending itself to a vulnerable vocal performance. I never thought of it that way. Thanks for the new perspective
