That shit is siiiiiick. And not a ghetto give-away guitar that you usually see in these contests. Thats a gen-u-wine Gibson LP! Niiiiice. 8-)

Yeah, but not a good one... It's been a while since I had a LP and took a lot of notice at the new models but aren't those ones what Squire is to Fender?

I'd still love it though :)
  • It looks like a Junior, but it's still a Gibson. Not exactly top of the line model, but not the same as a Squire. That would be Epiphone, which can be pretty damn good anyway.

Yes, thanks, you're right. A friend had an epiphone LP in the late 90's and it was good for hitting people with and that's about it. No comparison whatsoever to a Gibson LP. It looked the part though. Probably needed real gibson pickups and a neck job and re-set up and it'd have been ok - but he was always too cheap to do anything like that. Cheap enough to buy an epiphone when he could have had a used Les Paul for a little more at the time.

Is that about the same quality as a LP Studio then?

No, a Gibson is a Gibson. If you were to compare that way than an Epiphone would be to a Gibson, what a Squire is to Fender. Only an Epiphone is far supior to a Squire. You can pick up a Squire for about $100, but other than a Junior (I don't even think they are that cheap) you couldn't pick up an Epiphone for $100.

  • looks like a junior. neck meets the body at 16th fret, 2 volume/tone nobs....yea, i'd take 'er!
  • i'd have no problem takin that at all...the artwork alone is sick.
  • I think anyone can enter the contest to win the guitar. All you need to do is sign up to become an AAF army member which is free. I think you are allowed one entry per day...not sure when the drawing is but I'll be entering every day!
