Seriously, every time I click on a thread I read the following:
"if you didn't realize how much having a kid is, then you shouldn't have had one."
"you fucking genius"
"What the fuck is wrong with you? do you know how to read?"
"your hate and bias is rather sickening"
"what sucks is the bias and human scum that troll this board."
"you left wing bias is un fucking real."
"you feel like quite the badass what you get to freely talk shit don't you? message boards are you little outlet to act like a tough guy. cuz in real life you are 5'7 140 pds right?"
"I'm sad for people like you."
"not shocking you have nothing to say. do you enjoy being embarrassed like this?"
"too bad you've fully exposed your disgusting self."
I've read posts from about 5 people here taking issue with this crap, and yet it seems the moderators could care less. Is anyone else here at a loss to know why?

Yeah, I didn't use it before but I reckon I'd use it now.
I was then banned for six weeks for merely - in the mods own words: 'responding' to Jlew and 'Brmlw', aka 'The Face', aka 'Last Exodus', aka 'Encinoman'.
You see, so I find it odd that someone can be banned simply for responding to certain individuals, but that these same individuals can get away with posting their insults and provocations on this message board about 20 times a day.

to answer the original post, i think the mods are just sitting back in utter amazement of how much of a shithole the train has become. it has become a very toxic environment around here.

Knowing that, when he first returned, I was happy to see him - I believe I even said so on the board - that he should cool the insults so that he could stick around and we can all learn something from him. One topic I've genuinely enjoyed seeing jlew debate over the years is 9/11. While I disagree with a lot of his stances on what happened, he knows his shit (or at least has a lot of good establishment-story bookmarks).
The train really CAN become a bit of a circle-jerk... Without people like jlew, and the dissenting opinions...this is just another slanted news site...but ffs. This has been getting ridiculous. Obviously, the sandbox ain't big enough....
For the longest time, my only problem with the bullying (and I've said it on the board before), is that it discourages other posters. the very first post I made on the train (years ago), I was insulted and ridiculed (by pjdoll...anyone remember that gem?)...I got pissed, told her off, and it took me forever to come back.
I'm SURE that there are lurkers out there that avoid the train because of that crap....and I've been told personally (more than once), by intelligent posters whose opinions' I respect, that they don't post here because of this kind of behaviour. They don't think a political message board is worth the blood pressure issues. For that reason alone, the names and insults really have no place here. (while I'm on a roll - PLEASE drop the line 'cut and paste party'...it has never been funny, nor clever. you've beaten it to death, and it sounds juvenille as fuck...intentionally?...typical na-na-na-na-boo-boo baiting?)
And while I don't think Byrnzie is innocent - he's taken the offense more than a couple times, can't seem to resist taking the bait, and sure as hell isn't helping anything by starting a thread like this.....but it's obvious to anyone who comes here often that there is one person consistently breaking the forum rules, and baiting others to follow suit....and it isn't him. If it was, SOMEONE would have called him on it in this thread by now. I see no one disagreeing, aside from 'the accused'
back to the topic - I think the mods gave up locking threads and are madly trying to figure out how to get a torrent client working so that they can hear this album everyone is talking about :P
Although in all fairness, it's always been a bit of a volatile place - though that's part of what makes it interesting & fun to post here. I just don't think there are enough people posting here at the moment.

And did you read the OP? I asked people what they thought of all the abuse. Most people pm me about it. A few people have raised their concerns, frustrations, right here on the board. I thought I'd just come right out and say what a lot of people are thinking. And I don't care if you don't like it.
You don't have to care if I don't like it. Doesn't mean I can't share my opinion.
