  • Unfortunately there is nothing you can do. I just had this issue with my Chicago tickets. I ate the cost of the tickets and I'm not sure if anyone ever got to use them after I contacted the Ten Club.

I realize that there are reasons for the policy, but it pisses me off that I couldn't even transfer them to my brother, who is just as big a fan as me.

I could go on but I am still ticked off about the whole situation. So I'm sorry, but no, there's nothing you can do.

:( Boo. I'm going to explore some of the "options" presented and then continue to attempt to sell off my stuff in order to get money (p.s. anyone need a 42" LCD HD tv, lol?)
  • I don't want to come off as a bitch here, but unless something drastic happened financially to you in the last month or two, these tickets did not go on sale ALL that long ago that you shouldn't have been aware that POSSIBLY you might not be able to swing it. It's always wise to budget your projected incoming funds with the highest possible cost of going to shows, that's the way you know whether you should hit that buy button or not.

It sounds to me like you jumped the gun and are now looking for a way out. I'm sorry to hear that, but if the 10club doesn't work with you (nor do they have to) - then you may have learned a valuable and expensive lesson here.
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

I could use the LA 3s.
  • Happened to me at Manchester and London. I just hope they were sold on at the box office. It sucks thinking they're still gathering dust there :(

  • Perhaps you can find someone in a better financial situation to contribute some of the cost of your flight in exchange for a ticket. The Ten Club allows you to sell your tickets at face value. You could sell 3 of your 4 to make more of your money back, and only attend one show.

You can always flip merch purchased at the show. [Sorry! Mortal Sin to some fans, I know!!!] But that would require actually having cash with you that night.

I sold 6 of my vinyl Holiday singles last week so that I could eat and buy pet supplies. (3 of them were to someone right here on this board.) Do you have anything not essential to life that you can sell?

Maybe you can reverse the transaction with your credit card company. That would be worth looking into.

how is that worth looking into?

all sales final. no refunds. no transfers. no exchanges.

we all know that before we buy 10c tickets. people abused the transfer policy; now we have to deal with the consequences.

i just made plans to go to both of these shows...if the 10c is willing to do a transfer, i'd be willing ot reimburse you.

    let me know what happens

they don't do transfers anymore. they stick to the policy firmly now.

Yes they do... and I was surprised to find out even people got away with the transfers during 2005 (canadian tour) and 2006....cuz I didn't get away with it when I asked about transferring my 10c tixs for the Toronto show that we were too tired and burnt out....it was a bad show for us but we went anyway cuz 10c said no. lol

Looking back, I'd have rather ate my tickets cuz we could have seriously harmed ourselves driving home, almost running off the road cuz we were too tired and couldnt afford staying in a hotel. bad moveeeeee!

anyway sorry to the OP.... if you don't mind eating the tickets even after 10c says no cuz of policy, they at least will know you can't go to the show(s), they might release them to others.

good luck and looks like you're going to philly at least... have fun. :)

What? I would have sold the budgie, eaten the cat, bought beer instead of cat food and spun those singles.

  • I'm not going to win a popularity contest for this post but I remember that thread where that guy got shut out when trying to purchase tickets and was basically asking everybody here if they really needed to go to so many shows. Not sure if he was trying for these shows that you can't go to. But I bet that guy is either really pissed or is laughing his ass off. Little compassion for someone who goes to a buffet and can't finish their plate. Sorry for the lack of compassion. I've been in the shut out position before and I think it is equally unpleasant.

Actually, I am the OP, I completely agree. I am not whining or sad about the loss of the cost to me or whatever, as I have noted a few times throughout the post, I just feel upset about the idea that these tickets may not go to a good home and simply go to waste. I am upset that they may be unused.

Also, I just received the official 10c reply:

"If a fan club member notifies us that they will not be able to make it to the show we will use the tickets to upgrade a random member who has less fortunate seats. When the box office closes at eh venue, unused tickets come back with us to the warehouse. Tickets are not resold.

We hope this better clarifies our ticketing procedures.

    Best,
    10c"

I may just have to begin hustling in various senses of the word... And, yes, to some above posters, I am beginning to try to sell stuff.
  • i asked the 10c the same question today... knowing full well what the answer would be regarding transfers would be, but there was no harm in trying hey... 8-)
i have had to eat the cost of a lot more than 2 shows... i was already prepared to do this :?
it was not the money i was worried about, more letting down my friends who had my spares. :(
    2003 - Sydney x3,
    2006 - Reading Festival,
2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,
    2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,

2010 - I watched it go to fire!
    2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,
    2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,

I/we know they have this policy in place. However a middle ground can be found. Charge a fee to null the order or to transfer etc.Things come up in life (births deaths...) and this policy just seems to harsh to me. These seats along with others could be used by someone who really wants them. I know 10c does alot of great things but a little flexibility would be nice.

I know of someone who was able to do this for another band who has the same policy. They went to the DMV got a new drivers license for $10. They sent the drivers license to someone and the person wore a hat to pick up the tickets.

This can be risky. For a few reasons. One, if you get caught by 10 club. Two, someone else has an old drivers license of yours.

I am not encouraging it, but it has worked in the past for other bands.
I have heard that this works for the 10c as well
    ;)
but you take a chance if you give your ID to someone you don't know.
  • You will eat the $, but let PJ know...

They will make sure those tix are used by members. Best you can do. I've been through it...sucks but at least they'll be put to good use,,,don't need drunk frat boys pushin into empty seats...
