Must do Pat's, I just had a couple steaks from there last night, so good and I've been to just about all steak shops in Philly. If you need any tips on pizza, sushi, or bars, let me know, I obviously have good taste in music (PJ), so it should translate.
  • If you look on the Porch theres a big thread about Philly cheesesteaks. From what I gathered, Johns Roast Pork is the best. Im a veggie so I cant really tell you. I do know Pats has really good cheese fries and Jims on South Street always smells awesome.
  • Gino's or Pat's????

Agreed.... and you're an outsider SPEEDY and know this. Go find John's Roast Pork, or Jim's Steaks or even Tony Luke's if you want a good cheesesteak.

Hey Speedy (or anyone else), have you been to the philly place on Belmont just west of Clark? It's owned by some guy that moved here from Philly. Suppose to be the best philly steak place in the city.

Agreed that John's Roast Pork is the best option. One thing to note is that they close at 3pm every day (or when they run out of rolls - which does happen often before 3). There is talk that they are going to be staying open till 8 in the near future, but I don't think that's happened yet.

John's Roast Pork. JRP's only open till 3 in the afternoon though. If you want something better than Pat's or Geno's and is open 24/7 then go to Phil's at 24th & Passyunk. Get the Mushroom Three Cheese 'Wit.
