His tour schedule has a pretty convenient little gap in it. He's in New York at the R&R Hall Of Fame on 10/29, off for the 30th, 31st, and Nov. 1st, and then plays D.C. on Nov 2nd. Very interesting...

  • Now that would be truly epic right there. The Boss with Pearl Jam, two rock icons and notorious live performers coming together for 2 special evenings to close out the Spectrum. Luckily, I have tickets to the Halloween show, so come on Brucey, get there.
I know that I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.

I'm glad someone else said it - I thought I was the only one!
  • That would be a LONG night. Probably 2 1/2 hours of Bruce, 2 1/2 hours of Pearl Jam, and at least a couple of jam songs with both together on stage. :)

The Boss would be great but would prefer the godfather of grunge myself.

I saw that and instantly thought he might be there. Considering we has a history with PJ and we all know how much Philly loves him... I wouldn't be surprised to see him there.

Chances of a full Bruce set are slim to none. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Bobby Jean -> No Surrender -> Better Man encore in there somewhere, though. ;)

I do not believe Bruce would play a whole concert, probably just jump in on a few songs, maybe like Ben Harper during the jam of Daughter on the Madison Square Garden DVD.

I don't know. I'm not seeing an hour long opening act type set either, unless of course, it's JUST Bruce doing an acoustic set, which would be amazing. Shit, Ed could sit in on half of it... ;) Now, THAT would be incredible.

If that was the case though then they would still need an opener unless they made it just a long PJ show with him the encores. I just dont see it happening though

I just don't see it happening - I don't see the Boss guesting in PJ's set. Just doesn't mesh with what I expect from him.

No you're not alone...I might expect a sighting with a couple of tunes but I don't want a second of anything but PJ, sorry to the Boss lovers, its gonna be epic enough w/PJ
I met my wife here...you can too! Don't lose hope!

that tour schedule has been known for awhile now and the rumors of a bruce showing have been running crazy ever since the pj shows were announced. this is nothing new really. i wouldn't be so shocked to see a ed and bruce do a hour long acoustic set before pj takes the stage on the 30th and 31st and maybe bruce do a few songs with pj at the end of the 3rd encore. bruce has a huge love affair for the band.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

  • I wouldn't mind seeing Bruce make an appearance... After all it is the spectrum, it would be a fitting goodbye!

I agree. Saw him this last tour and he was great. It would be memorable to hear he and Ed due Nebraska, State Trooper or Off He Goes. Little respect for a man who put Jersey-Philly on the rock map. I will be excited by anyone making an appearance those final shows. Of course Uncle Neil would totally blow my mind with a joint Cortez the Killer. Nice to dream.

  • i don't own any bruce cd's but i've got a lot of respect for his musical legacy, his ties to philly and the spectrum, and his ability to put on a great show (i've seen live concert footage). i think it would be amazing if he joined in for whatever he feels like contributing. the man is a legend and its hard to imagine it sucking. personally, i think it would be amazing.

It was in 2004 after the vote for change shows. Bruce did one himself in NJ- there are good quality boots of that show out there

The thing is, Springsteen played two "farewell to the Spectrum" shows in April.

Then he announced four more in October, which understandably irritated a lot of the fans who bought tickets to the April shows.

Now, two weeks later, he's going to either open for or share a bill with Pearl Jam? I guess it's possible, but it doesn't make sense to me.

yes I looked into it. My source did not think it was going to happen, at least not with the E Street Band. The reasoning was that they all have families and they have been on tour for a bit now and they have a break for a few days to go see their familes. Not all of them still live in Jersey so more travel to go home.
Anyway, he couldn't confirm if Bruce would pop in but he says it highly doubtful a full set or anything if it was to happen at all. So basically, it was a non answer for Bruce but a good answer for the rest of the band. I am going to keep prying him for info. I will keep you all posted.

Not a fan of the Boss.
His ego is too big and would get in the way of Pearl Jam's vibe..
    He's kinda like a white Kanye :?

Lets stick to an opener for the opener.. :D
Seen PJ 21 times live from 1994-2019

  • Please!! A white Kanye?! That is insane.
