white stripes have more of a chance than KOL or the killers (both horrible). I'm sure Jack White will be in there somehow.

I think a band like My Morning Jacket would be in there before the bands you listed. The Arcade Fire are a great band and will be in there when the time comes for sure.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

Sha la la la i'm in love with a jersey girl

I love you forever and forever :)

  • White Stripes first release was 1999
The Raconteurs are worthy depends on how much more work they're able to do together
KOL will probably be first ballot if they continue this success despite their better work being way behind them
The Whigs - pretty much no shot but they deserve it
    Silversun Pickups
    all I have right now

Linkin Park will for sure be in there. I'm not a fan of their music, but seeing the number of albums they have sold in the digital era is very impressive (Their first album went diamond, and both after have gone multi platinum). It's weird to see that they have been around for 9 years and have only released 3 studio albums.

I don't think Kings of Leon will make it. I think Kings of Leon will fall off the face of popculture after this album. They gained a ton of new fans from "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody" and their next album will fail to live up to those new fans' standards, and it will totally fail to live up to their core fanbase's standards. They will try to go even more pop rock and lose both audiences.
  • Well, this is a list of who SHOULD make it.

    Ryan Adams (d'uh!)
    The Arcade Fire
    Broken Social Scene
Jack White anything (assuming the next few Dead Weather releases are awesome, and there's no reason why they won't be)
    Bright Eyes
    The Killers
    Coldplay

I realize most of these bands won't actually make it.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

It's lowered it standards significantly, that is for sure.

Ryan Adams should be nominated without a doubt. A true artist.

  • i would probably put the white stripes up there, being that they're already mentioned at the nyc rnr annex.

maybe coldplay after a few releases...

i know he's really 90's but i think trent reznor deserves to be in there. he's really re-invented music in the past few years imho.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.
