    It actually does kind of make sense.
    The way I understand it, it is done by a popular vote of viewers.
    Of the Best Female nominees (Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga), Swift is the only artist that is not exclusively in the pop genre. Most of her songs are country tunes that crossover. So Swift probably got 100% of the country vote, while the other five split the pop vote.

    In Best Video all the nominees were were either pop or hip hop.

    Regardless, nothing excuses the way Kanye acted.

    Kanye sucks balls but this actually reminds me of one of my favorite VMA moments: when Nathanial Hornblower (MCA from the Beastie Boys) crashed the stage to protest REM winning video of the year over Sabotage. But at least MCA was funny.....he said he dreamed that Spike Jonze would win the award ever since he was a little boy and he also claimed to have come up with all the ideas for Star Wars.

    It was a stunt like the Eminem/ Bruno thing. T Swift is probably gonna duet with Kanye and they devised a plan to make it more popular.

    My favorite VMA moment was when Tim from Rage climbed the stage.

    MTV seems to come up with a stunt at every award show...fake
