  • any ideas for parking the car?
is the moon under water far from the academy? ta in advance :)

yeah it's quite far away, tother side of town, they do have parking at the academy but not sure what time time you are able to park from as none of us drive.
Will have to rethink the plan.
    Astoria 20/04/06, Leeds 25/08/06, Prague 22/09/06, Wembley 18/06/07,
    Dusseldorf 21/06/07, Manchester 17/08/09, London 18/08/09, LA 06/10/09, LA 07/10/09.

Ain't gonna be any middle anymore.
  • don't meet in the moon under water that is miles away from academy 1

there are loads of pubs right near the venue. BIG HANDS is really cool and is about 50m past the academy. the oxford is decent and does cheap but good food too that is about 100m past the academy and across the road. the grafton is decent too if you go down grafton street (opposite big hands) and walk for about 30 seconds. student union bar has just been upgraded and is really cool and cheap... 50m before the academy. varsity is decent that is about a 2min walk past the academy underneath the massive OPAL student accomodation halls.

then there is Kro Bar directly opposite the students union building (50m before the venue) which is very good but expensive-ish.

all better options than the moon under water trust me!

  • What about that place that jack_bass recommends (Big Hands), can we all meet there?

Yeah but I will be getting the train into Victoria so was thinking on a miniture pub crawl to get there as will be walking that way anyway. I did say it is across the other side of town!

Last time I went to big hands I found it kind of scummy, the toilets in that place are so nasty. Never been to that student union bar but will probably check it out if we have time.

We will probably get into Manchester in the afternoon and start making our way across via the likes of Fab Cafe, Salsbury and Grand Central anyone wanting to join us is welcome, if not have fun and we may see you at the gig.

Hi folks, very little time till Manchester, my friend has had to back out at last minute. I have a spare ticket and do not want to sell it on eBay as a tout will no doubt get it. All I wanna do is recoup my loss, the face is £22.50 so if anyone wants it they can have it at that price. Im not bothered about the booking fee. I wont be there till about 6.30 on the night. Any interest then PM me. Cash on the night is fine.

    Take care folks

    Phil

Have to agree. It was a lot better then i was expecting it to be.
  • The only down side would be them coming on 15mins late... and looking at the other setlists on the tour so far that means they had to drop down in a hole and another new song most likely lesson learned :(
