I think lock makes an example of what isn't allowed.

Also you would get people accusing 10c of deleting people's threads and running this place like a dictatorship..

  • i'm like the official thread ender. shit always gets locked or deleted for some reason. i had a thread on the lack of politics in Backspacer (before leak) and it vanished pretty quick.

    this thread probably will too.

  • sometimes i question the judgment of the mods when it comes to locking and deleting threads...but i've learned to live and let live and to not ask questions...i don't want any scandals and getting into trouble again, but i do hate to see seemingly harmless thread get locked or deleted...oh well, can't beat em...guess i'll just have to live with it

So by default and your rule your own post should be deleted due to quoting negativity towards pearl jam. Ha. Irony..

  • I built, run and moderate a website for a teacher union (http://sstuwa.org). In a perfect world where everyone abided by the rules, it would a reduntant job. The number one controversy is when a thread gets locked or deleted. It is a job no-one likes performing, but very important to the effectiveness and cohesion of a message forum.

I guess the same here. Pearl Jam and 10c is not a free-for-all. I have no problem with moderation of any kind. It is their (and my) right and duty. No matter what people think, standards, legalities and rules must be followed and someone needs to draw a line in the sand. For some it is just keeping the spam bots off or trouble makers. For other forums it is keeping a clear message or theme. Whatever it is, the rules are clearly stated and you agree to them when you join.

My reply, if you don't like it, post elsewhere.

a ban for a week or 2 would send a clear message not to make repeat threads. on the old pit that's what usually happened to repeat thread starters. its really scary at how many people on here stupid and try to be funny in making repeat threads bout the backspacer leak. it be funnier if people talked bout the birdman sessions or "the video".

its a little different when you're paying for the "priviledge" of posting here. do they offer refunds if you get banned?
