Why doesn't Mike play more solo's on the albums?

Alive, Red Mosquito, NAIS seem to be the only true Album solos Mike has had. Looking at the track times for Backspacer, I don't see him doing too many solos. My question is why?

I love it when I can hear Mike killin' a solo on the boots, just would love to hear a studio version of his solos too.
Straight down the center for a hot chicken dinner!

There's other solos on studio tracks. Yellow Ledbetter, Animal, Once, Why Go, Get Right. But I know what you're getting at: the solo sections of stuff like Porch and Even Flow don't really have much going on on the studio versions. And other songs contain have big solos live but don't on the studio track (Black, Corduroy, Immortality)
