Anyone here into them? I don't know if I am biased cuz they are local to me but I def dig the sound they have. Kinda reminds me of 70's rock with a mixture of Wolfmother and the White Stripes.. I was at this show(not my vids) and it was kick*ss, anyway, enjoy and if not oh well.

They've got a song on MLB 09 The Show that sounds a lot like the White Stripes. I remember the first time I played the game my wife came in and said, "Hey, is that Jack White?".
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

Sorry to bump an ancient thread, but these guys are playing a $5 show tonight, and I want opinions. Are they worth being tired at work tomorrow? I'm halfway through their Dogs album on Grooveshark right now and I'm liking what I hear.

Can anyone comment on their live show or their music in general?

Holy crap, they were well worth tomorrow's tired work day (technically today). These guys are damn good rockers; refreshing music in an all-too-redundant market. A pleasure to see live, and great guys to chat with.

Hey! Cool! Didn't see this thread yesterday, but I'm glad you went and liked them. I've not been to a show, but I have their albums and like them. Good band. I discovered them on YouTube about 6-8 months ago and have enjoyed them a lot!

Good to hear they are nice guys too. Always a plus when the band members are not douchbags.

Yeah, they seemed genuinely interested when I told them that I discovered them earlier in the day. They asked how it came about and how I heard about the show and everything.

I gotta say that they sounded really tight on stage, and it felt like they were playing for the crowd and not to us.
  • ^ I am also really happy to hear that they are a good live band. As any PJ fan understands, it's always a lot better when a band you like is not just a studio band, but is a solid live act. To me, that is the mark of a truly good band.

If technology is the only thing making you sound good, to me, that's almost cheating. Technology can make pretty much anything sound good, you know? But there is no place to hide when you are live!

Your comments have made me even more excited about these guys.

Plus, I have to admit I sort of want to like them because they are from Springsteen's neck of the woods...and I'm a huge fan of The Boss. Asbury Park, NJ. :D

If anybody's interested, the Parlor Mob will be performing acoustic on 95.9 WRAT (www.wrat.com) within the hour. I'm listening to the station right now.
