regardless of whether you pre-ordered it six times, downloading a leak is like opening your presents before christmas.

pretty safe to say that the ten club, and eddie and the boys are probably just as peeved as your parents would be.

there's no patience and no respect here.

    I hear the band is going to personally deliver the CD's of everyone who rants about people listening early...just to show how much better of fans they are than everyone else.

    from the posts i've reviewed so far, none seem to defend the band and their wishes in regards to downloading a leak. the ones i've read are full of people who are defending their right to download the album days before it's release just because they preordered here, preordered it at target, bought tickets and gear in the past, how eddie and the boys dont need the money, how eddie has a house in hawaii and why would he need the money, how things are different than they were ten years ago, etc etc etc.

    my post is the exact opposite.

    and no im not delusional. i'm respectful of the band's wishes.

    it's so obvious that a few people have declared their disrespect for the band and the release date and are now refreshing every thread to defend themselves against the criticism of those fans that have called them out for being disrespectful, to the band and to this forum.

    oh i'm sooooooooooooooo disrespectful. let me go slit my wrists in shame. i'm so sorry Eddie! I'm so sorry! oh wait, he just called and told me he really doesn't give a shit as long since i have supported this band for so long and i'm buying it when it comes out. thank God. i was being melodramatic there for a minute.

    I'm going to say this is the best way to sum it up... but that's just my opinion of course.

    If someone downloads a leak but buys the album, sees 3 shows and buys merch/etc... you think the band things they are disrespecting them? I doubt it - that's their bread and butter...

    opening band, all your doing is hitting up every thread on here and posting your only defense mechanism: sarcasm.

    i'm sure you saw the post that included eddie's own words from two years ago in which he did not prefer folks to download, regardless of whether you preordered it.

    and if what's happening here is "ok", then post the link to the leak and see how long it lasts. start up a free webpage that leads everyone right to it.

    bottomline is that too many people are used to getting what they want, when they want it. why do you think none of the official bootlegs are available to download yet? because they have backspacer songs on them. and just because you bought a live ticket and may have seen that show, doesn't mean you have the right to that album...yet.

    and ledvedder...saying that something is "disrespectful" is pretty tame when it comes to vocabulary.

    my only defense is ironclad logic. that and my absurdly high enthusiasm for what i just heard are all i need. I've yet to hear any argument against my opinion other than i should be ashamed and that the band is so disrespected by me without giving much of an explanation. its pure overreaction to a completely harmless thing.
